Eagles top Bearcats in both games

In the women's game, Jenni Screen, Jo Matthews and Cherie Smith scored in double figures, along with Kylie Newbold coming off the bench for 10 points. They won 68-59. Leading West were Erin Seward with 13 and Iren Sourlatzis and Kamala Lamshed with 10 each. Nerrida Cooper had 13 rebounds.

The mens game finished with the Eagles up 97-93 at Wayville. Mark Nash's return for injury with 15 points and 8 rebounds, coupled with 19 points from Danny Phillips wasn't enough to get them past Forestville. For the home team, Jason Dix played his opening game of the season, racking up 29 points and 16 rebounds (including 10 offensive). Brad Sullivan had 24 points, and Jason Farman added a 12 and 11 double.

Don't see Brad Newley's name there - am starting to think it's just one big smokescreen and he won't be playing at all.

His back in Adelaide Moses, but hasn't trained. I understand he will suit up this week against Mavs.

Newley and Mottram both sitting on the bench during the game. Will be playing against Eastern this week.

Motrom will not play is my news. with his knee probs the club would have to take out insurance costing about 11,000 not worth it.
