April Fools

Anyone else disappointed at the quality of April Fools news out today? Not very imaginative this year and seems everyone is trying their hand at the same gag.

It's not April Fools in the states yet.. that's when it gets real. Australia doesn't really go Beast mode with April fools.

36ers signing Paul Pierce to a 1 year deal was a good one even though it was obviously a joke

Southern Tigers did a Steve Nash signing. At least he isn't under contract to an NBA team after retiring.

But still, both pretty weak offerings. Something a little more likely would have been better to at least get people talking. That's the idea of an April Fools joke.

The Crocs one was kinda depressing in that Mike Kelly would probably still be our best wing defender if he actually came out of retirement...

BNSW to introduce 4 point field goal and 5 point play

Commencing in the 2016 Molten Waratah Senior League Season, BNSW will introduce the 4 point field goal when taken from the offensive teams back court. If fouled while attempting, it has the potential to be a 5 point play.

BNSW General Manager Geoff Tripp said "This concept is not new. Exhibition games such as with the The Original Harlem Globetrotters have used this concept before as it adds a new and exciting dimension to the half court shot. FIBA have been considering this concept for some time but BNSW is the first governing body to introduce it into league games".

Rule updates will be provided before the 2016 season.
