No relation to Pero
Probably a college next year and then Europe. As Isaac pointed out, there is a discussion on a similar topic below about his NBA chances.
Good luck to him whatever he decides to do. It appeared he played injured in the last game, hopefully nothing serious.

College (St Marys?) and then probably EuroLeague leading to NBA thru the backdoor, Ingles-style.
Although if he does 4 years of college, may make it straight into NBA. Don't forget he's still only really young.
Needs to spend more time playing as a PG and develop elite athleticism, all of which I think he is capable of.
Will be a dominant SEABL player and will spend time off the benches in the Serbian league.

Not sure you can "develop" elite athleticism. It's even tough to turn a chucker into a PG but at least that is achievable.

Response to fstos, without wanting to sound rude, but how else do you think 'elite athleticism' happens?
DJ needs to work on his lateral quickness, and change of pace, and also become more comfortable playing PG. He is undersized to play as a SG at NCAA Div1 level, as I don't see him being able to guard bigger, stronger SGs.
His future lies in being to project himself to prospective programs as a PG. Is an under-rated ballhandler, however this isn't always apparent as is regularly played out of position.

The most important question that hasn't been asked (and probably the most polarising):
How do you pronounce his surname:
Vas-el-jev-ic; or
Va-cil-ja-vic
:-)

Pretty sure the answer is genetics. Sure you can improve on your athletic ability but to go from very average athleticism to "elite athleticism" (and some of you guys are talking NBA here) is just not possible.
You don't need it anyway. Sure it helps but there are plenty of other things that you can develop that are possible.
Maybe a better choice of words for you would have been to "improve his athleticicism"
Saint Mary's if he has half a brain. LSU if he's cocky. He's fit to be a good WCC player, not so well suited for the SEC. And as much as people love to hate on Patty, Delly, Saint Mary's etc, Randy Bennett has put every Aussie who has ever played for him at least in the NBL, plus a few in Europe and two in the NBA. Should be a no brainier.

He has talent, but to become a good pro he needs to do a lot of work doing that talent into skills that help a team. Shot selection, shooting, ball handling, playmaking and defence all need to be improved.
