Check on Sporting Pulse on Games log for each player and add up the games and if it doesn't meet the % requirements to qualify for finals then disqualification occurs. Simple as the Meerkats say ! Likely not calculated or someone thought no one would check. If they won then that is a real shame and was it really all worth it to not check or do the wrong thing.

They broke a by-law.

Can't play finals in two different grades of youth league.

West played two players from div 2 in the div 1 game cause the the div 2 team went straight into the GF.

re poster 809 -

that doesn't always work because some weeks only the score is put on sportingpulse and not the playing list.

My sympathies to the players who would be absolutely shattered after coming off a "High" to be let down like a busted balloon.
I'm sure they will bond and make a great, determined team for next year
1 silly mistake!

But Sturt are playing 2 girls ( from Div 2 ) in the finals that had not played Div 1
all season. Please explain?

so bb
if you played all season long in a lower div you automatically qualify for the higher div
the rule here states if they play in 2 different divs in FINALS that it is classified as a forfeit
eg. if sarah played div 2 all year long then the div 1 coach was like "hey sarah come play div 1 for finals" she can
if sarah played div 2 first round of finals then the div 1 coach say " hey sarah come play div 1 for finals" she cant

Well, Div One YLW has been a mess all season. I think Sturt have done a "Bradbury" to get into the GF. However, highly unlikely they will get over the line for a gold medal in the GF against an extremely tough team in Forestville. Unless of course they all fall over!!!

poster 946 - but i was reading in the div 6 thread that a forfeited game did count when accumulating games played tally for season for % eligibility.

I know they are for different objectives.

so BSA need to sort that by law out there - counts for some games but doesn't count for other reasons

Sturt have more of a chance of winning than West do bb...

Logical conclusion. Sturt youth girls have had an interesting season, rotating their PL bench youngsters, their reserves, U18's and the returning college girls all in YL. Mixed results all season. And to finish, they needed to bring up two Div 2 players. Wonder who will suit up for the final?

Sure you're not bb...not sure how interesting it will be when the same team who suited up week 1 of finals and week 2 of finals, does so again in week 3.
