I generally don't look at the Un20s as historically has been made up from the kids who couldn't make it into youth league. So therefore not a true championship.
SNAFU
interesting you say you that 20s is made up of players who couldn't make YL, I coached 20s VC this year and come up against many players who are play YL Champs.
Yep many coaches do the you must play U20s and then rotate into YL. SNAFU you pretty much mailed it
There is a difference between bench 5 that rotates into under 20's and Youth Championship. Just saying.
Anyway picking VC winners
Boys
12s Bulleen
14s Melbourne
16s come from behind Bulleen
18s Dandy
Girls
12s in overtime Bulleen
14s win by 15+ Bulleen
16s Latrobe
18s Bulleen
Under 20s Dandenong for boys and Nunawading in the girls

I always thought for kids doing year 12 especially, playing under 20's and youth league would be too much, but hey if they can fit it in good luck to them.
Also depends very much about where the kids play and how it suits them and their future plans in the game.
True Bear, our YL coach is the U20 coach so we have 8 YL players in the U20 team
I am biased but I'm tipping Sunbury to win U20 VC they beat Dandenong to win Eltham Dandenong tournament then won 2 out of 3 so they'd have to be slight favourites

Anon^ I wouldn't even begin to say how any particular Association handles their youth league age kids, I would however try to put into perspective how much demand is placed on them and how this may impact the individual kid's future.
If a kid is playing both, how does he/she cope with time allocation to fit in everything, for example:
1. Year 12 studies and exams for some
2. University studies or exams for many
3. Part time work, for many who have to earn
4. u/20's team training sessions (2 X per week)
5. YL training sessions (2 X per week)
6. Additional recovery/video/strengthening work
7. Friday night VJBL games
8. Saturday or Sunday YL games
9. Tournaments or State commitments (for a few)
10. Growing up as a young adult...?
Just sayin' it is a pretty full schedule!

Sorry to drift off topic, I wish Sunbury u/20 men luck, but Dandenong will be a tough hurdle...

Regardless of the end results, pretty proud of having 5 teams competing for VC titles tomorrow night. Great effort for players and coaches.
Bear they smashed through that hurdle and won by 20

Fabulous result for the Boomers. Four Vic titles on Friday night and our 16's pushed Dandy but went down by only 6. Go Boomers
Bulleen is officially a Power Club now, well done!
