The Aussie schedule for March Madness

NCAA March Madness has well and truly gripped the US college basketball scene, with Selection Sunday finalising the 2018 NCAA Tournament field. A total of 9 Australians across 8 teams will take in the 'Big Dance', with three teams securing automatic bids after winning their conference tournaments, while a further 5 have received invitations to join them.

Saint Mary’s with Jock Landale and a loaded Australian roster were not invited, with their weak non-conference schedule and failure to reach the WCC Tournament final against Gonzaga ultimately proving their undoing.

And yes I know the selection is still being finalised.

By the way, that is the risk Jock takes. It is not just non- conference, St Mary's play in a VERY weak conference.

Re: No women?

If you want the women's draw do it yourself. If someone is prepared to put the work in to put the men's draw up good on them. They are not required to do any more than that.

St Marys not making the Tourney shows that the WCC and the St Marys program isn't the amazing program everyone thinks in Australia.

Talk of some of the those Aussie being fringe NBA is ridouculous and most will be solid State league players.

All they had to do was beat byu or San Fran in the last few games to make it in.

St Mary's will struggle big time next year. 3rd or 4th in the wcc with the loss of Naar, Herman son and landale.
