Luke Travers likely to sign with Perth Wildcats as a DP

According to Olgun and Josh Garlep.

Very poor decision IMO.

He will sit on the end of the Wildcats bench and see very little court time as a DP.

The kid is super talented. 6'7 wing with athleticism, speed, great foot work and amazing feel for the game.

At just 17 (18 in September) he has the chance to become an NBA player.

As a DP can he still go to College after the next NBL season, if he chooses too?

I would've taken Travers over Lo Buluk for the final spot.
Very promising future indeed.

As a DP, he can choose to decline payment and keep his college eligibility alive.

This is an article from July 2018.

Obviously things can change (as far as his decision goes) from then

He is over in the US currently so I assume his goal is to collect a broader range of scholarships, not just the typical ones we see (SMU, TCU, Hawaii). I think he is quite legitimately an NBA prospect with the way he has performed at international events so it is very important he attends a school capable of handling that. If he has an offer from Cal I would not be surprised after this US summer if he picks up some more.

Travers is till weighing up college options. As a DP, he maintains his eligibility. Good decision IMO.

He is a Joe Ingles type talent. Love to see how he continues to progress.

He is playing in AAU in the US right now? I don't think he wants to turn down college. His parents would have paid a bunch to send him over.

IMHO if he has the opportunity, its a smart move.
Bowen and Wani were DPs last season, got College offers, and now Wani has turned Pro.
Going up against the Wildcats in practice and playing a few minutes, will help him. And if there's no pro offer on the table next year, he goes to College anyway

He can still go to college next year after the NBL season concludes. Win-Win.

Would be weird to do an AAU tour for college exposure if he didn't want to go to college?

Would have been cool to see Luke Travers and Luke Jackson as our DP players, but Jackson has chosen to go to AFL.

He intends to play NCAA division one, he is talented enough to go that option and get into the NBA. He is playing in the US right now which is enough evidence to support his intention of playing college ball. Anyone who says different is ignoring the facts or has insider infomation from a team or family member. Which is more likely?

Think Jackson would have struggled at the next level being only 6'7. Wasn’t a shooter and couldn’t dribble the ball very well but he was an elite rebounder.

My understanding is that Travers wants to go to college. However a lot can change in 12 months.

Does anyone know where I can find a stream of WA Metro v NSW Metro (Men's) at the 2018 National Under 18's?

I've tried to find it on YouTube but no luck (maybe my search is wrong)
