Awesome announcement. Making that connection and giving opportunity.

Would be great to see maybe in future the winner from NBL1 playing at the blitz!

This is a good move. There's plenty of guys that will be able to compete. Pozoglou and Purchase from the Tigers would go well, along with a host of imports.

The idea of the NBL1 champion competing sounds nice, until key players already have NBL deals or imports move to their next gig. an All Star team is a much better option.

Nbl1 needs to be teams from all over Australia not just vic and tas.
What about the qbl teams?

Expansion is part of the plan. They're already in talk with state leagues

Love it! The roster makeup and choice of coach will be interesting. Maybe the coach of the winning club?

Hopefully all being nbl1 means there is a base salary and the talent overtime becomes spread over the conferences.

Will it be streamed?

No announcement of streaming though, interesting. Given the spread of games it may present logistical challenges to do it. Hopefully we'll at least get the Hobart session on the Sunday. Don't want a repeat of 2017 with no streaming.

Great move by the NBL and adds more reasons why the change of the league to NBL1 was needed to create more opportunity & exposure

Surely they stream it utilising the services in place for the nbl1 programs already in place, at the least.

At the very bottom of the blots schedule it has this.

STREAM ALL GAMES LIVE ON NBL TV

Streaming would be available at the DEC where the Southern Huskies played. Likewise at Kingston where the Hobart Huskies played. Who will pay for it is the question.

Awful idea. Track records of teams taking part in these tournaments is terrible, it's a waste of time for the opposition who want good games 2 weeks before the season. By that stage any name you throw up will be signed as a DP. It will be left over Americans, mainly players that can't make a cut, and 1-2 rough diamonds. Just a waste of money and time.
