Paul Pierce has sensationally called for the NBA All Star game to be played in Melbourne and other places around the world bringing the game to the fans.
He mentions India, London and China among other locations.
Not so sure about China though...

It will never happen. Most of the players selected would opt out.
Wonder how many refunds will be given as already said when players pull out and we have guys like Cody Zeller, Dion Waiters and Dragan Bender playing. Guys pull out to rest when it's in own country, why would they fly out here?
We don't get pre season nba games why would we get nba all star games?

If this is actually being considered, It will be a hard sell. Trust will be hard to earn after the debacle of the world cup warm up matches.
Wouldnt be surprised if we dont see any form of NBA representation in Australia for quite a while.
The fact that Paul Pierce said this doesn't make it any more likely to even be considered. The NBA following is big here, but it’s still nothing compared to what they have in the US. I also don’t expect the locals in NBA cities to be up for it either.
Maybe nba pre season game now after what doc Rivers had to say about the NBL and Australia

Why would AllStars game be played in a country with less than 25 million population?
How many live in China? Far bigger market.
Probably more chance of a pre-season game being played in China.
That said, NFL has taken games to London ? (And other cities?)

Not happening. The only reason the US team came here is because it is close to China where the world cup was being held. Unless NBA teams are already in the region they're not coming here. They much prefer to kowtow to China, even if it means burning every moral stance they've publicly held before ala Lebron James.
