Great news! Finally back with all the other former Seabl teams and renewal of long time rivalries!

Finally common sense reigns. Gotta give credit to Mt. Gambier, they didn't whinge when they got shafted from Seabl, just got on with the job of satisfying new demands placed upon them. Most well organised and successful club outside of the NBL.

Will they go with 19 teams or will someone drop out?

If not, would make sense to add another and have an even 20, maybe two conferences of 10

Did someone say they didn't whinge??? they threw pies at BA and had enough people out here complaining for them including the poor Basketball SA who didn't like being bullied in their own league.

^^^^ all that above aside - GREAT to have them back good crowds, tough venue to play in, provide a great opportunity for young players to play away from home in a true semi-pro environment

Wonder who is going to cover the travel costs?

Basketball vic do my head in.

How quickly they change their tune, acted like they didnt know them now this year they are welcoming them back like they need money off them.

Why didn't NBL1 approach the best team in SA and not the team which couldn't beat them?

Pioneers handed tough financial expectations?

Too much to expect the Vic clubs to pay for their own travel?

Great news. Will add another great dimension to the comp.
Were the Huskies pulling out though ? MG a replacement for Huskies ? So, still 18 teams ?
And what about the COE ?

If it wasn't for BSA we wouldn’t have been in this position. So we do thank the league, the teams and all involved for granting us that Opportunity to keep our club alive. Going to be fantastic to be back in NBL1.

If only they played as well in that final as Daly made his speech after it. Might have not been destroyed by a kid who always chokes in big games.

Take it personally all you want. Daly should be in the NBL. We all know that. Don't see you talking smack on the 5 straight conference finals and SEABL titles.

Now the rest of Adelaide can go back to their little city league, 36 years behind the rest of the country!

De Witt back to the Mount

Surely De Wit wouldn't leave a starting 5 position in a grand final winning team to go back to barely getting a few minutes a game in the Mount. Doesn't seem smart.

Doesn't seem smart, and I wouldn't put much weight behind the insights of trolls.

When are these other states becoming nbl1. Get with the program, seems like a lot of states are scared of change.

You may be right that other states are scared of change, but you coming to that conclusion means little since NBL1 only formed a year ago.

No new states will be joining NBL1. They will have their own version of NBL1 AFAIK. If at all.

So what benefit to state leagues being rebadged to NBL1? I'm not seeing many positives and lots of downsides. I’d like to see what the NBL and Basketball Victoria are offering!

It's all about Victoria..

No genuine interest in the sport elsewhere.

Why is that? The Vics and Vic associations are the powerhouses for sure, but a lack of interest and investment in the rest of the country will leave them with no one to play against and effectively halve the national talent pool. Not something I understand, at any rate.

If they were concerned about having no one to play against then why kick Pioneers out in year 1?

Basketball Victoria. Now they want to embrace other states. The other states do not need them!

yes, was crazy not included in year 1. At least they have seen the sense now and not to proud to effectively acknowledge oversight from previous year. lucky mt gambier were able to stay alive during the 1 year hiatus.
