Kings v Cairns Dec 8

Kings limp back to the Harbour City fresh from getting slapped around in the West. The loss was unexpected as a prostate exam, and just as shocking.

Cairns at home are on fire and whether they can pick Sydney's pocket for a win on the road is yet to be seen, but I'm pretty sure the fans from 7 other clubs are barracking for a Snake strike. Cairns on the road this year have been woeful to say the least, but they do like their big scalps and who could forget that 23 point hammering of the Cats in Perth.

There's no reason why Sydney should lose this one, but Cairns are the smokey team at the moment and black cats would be banned from Sydney's stadium and there would be no walking under ladders. I hear that for re-assurance Scomo has sent his "thoughts and prayers" to the Kings.

Cairns have a slight chance of a major upset, so a sneaky bet could pay up big, but Sydney at home have been dominant this season, and yes all runs need to be broken.

Sydney by 2

Will the kings defence improve, that's the key. After good start in Perth by Tate, Kay then battered him and he looked a bit sooky. Hopefully Cook or Moller is available and if so kings should win if not this could be close.

Kings will be angry after being pantsed on Friday night. This will end very badly for Cairns.

It's great that Cairns have been doing well but can't see them getting within 10 of Sydney today.

Jack,

Love the previews & the time you spend putting them together.
I & im sure all of us appreciate them.
Yes there's a but or however coming...
The last paragraph.
Cairns could win but Sydney will at Home as unbeaten but the run has to broken.
"Splinters" again Jack.
My tip in that case is Sydnet to win easily on the proviso that Cairns don’t win.
Realistically who know.
Kings were awful in Perf.
They should & will bounce back & crush Cairns.
10+

Kings D gone to pieces. Did Gaze say Moller out long term?, they miss him rotating on shooters as vickerman had him doing in United premiership year. Could be very bad weekend for kings.

Why is Cam Oliver all of a sudden being benched lately? He started out the season looking like a possible MVP and now is getting limited minutes

Casper 0 points at half time. Kings defense awful again.
Coach needs to get stuck into them at half time break.

Sydney complain on literally every possession. Weaver, Bogut, Tate the worst of them all. All swagger and no mental toughness in this team

Perfect example of the whinging right there. Tate called for a foul and simultaneously Tate, Weaver and Forde all throw their hands up

Commentators Stop raving about Casper Ware. The guy was great in the 4th but missing the first 3 quarters.
Sadly 1 quarter does not make a good player.
Kings need to look at their defensive set up. Last 2 games has been awful. Basketball is offence & Defence

Nothing wrong with getting excited by a guy scoring something like 20 in the quarter and pulled them to within a few points.

Yeh Btown you're right. Great scoring in the last quarter by Ware but let’s call it how it is. He did zero in the other 3 quarters & that was 1 reason along with pathetic defense that cost them the game.

Yep Moller out is a huge loss. Coach & players should be able to make the necessary adjustments though.

Great win for Taipans. Take nothing away from them. They shot the ball really well. Over 50% from both field & 3 point range.

I hope for Cairns sake those three losses to Illawarra don't come back to bite them in run home.
Still yet to play SEM would be great if they can get the series win over them.

Kings really didn't play too great on either end, and Cairns shot the shit out of the 3. That was really the story of the game. Don't feel nearly as bad about that loss as I do the Wildcats game. Onto the next one, and Lisch hopefully one game closer to match fitness.

It's the way they Shatter that Matter

What a glorious weekend for Basketball.

I wonder what rule they'll ignore next week to help the Crumbles cheat?

Would hiring a couple more imports help?

Amazing how Bruce and Moller were thought of strange selections for kings and how much the have meant to the team. Kings still got lots to offer Cook next week in should lighten the load but Gaze saying Moller Longer than expected.

"Yep Moller out is a huge loss."

LMFAO

The problem is that Beaver can't coach. You should have just kept gaze, at least he did what Bogut told him.

Seriously, how many players would Weaver be used to coaching in the G-League? Is it like the NBA where they have like 20 layers sitting on the bench???

Cos his rotations suck!

Sydney could easily cover for the loss of Moller, but Beaver doesn't. He just sticks to his same stupid rotations, only substituting Walker for Moller, so you have both Walker and Kickert on at the same time. They barely add up to one player between them.

He also keeps riding Lisch, even though he is clearly out of form.

Cooks will certainly make a difference I look forward to seeing him in the NBL.

Moller is a massive out for the kings, his speed and cover on D, length and hand in the face on shooters, rebounding and hustle are things you don't get stats for. Anyone who don’t see that only look at offence. Since he’s been out kings D been shit resulting in two losses.
