Hopson expected to re-sign with Breakers for next season

Just saw on the local news in New Zealand, that Matt Walsh has said that Hopson has given him his word that he will return to the Breakers for next season. Also stated the Breakers are still hopeful of signing Tai Webster and a Next Star for next season as well.

Very happy with this. As an Adelaide fan, we have no exiting talents whatsoever, so this guy was super fun to watch last season.

^^^

Assuming the roster looks like that IMO they'd have to be the favourites as long as they can put it all together

A full season healthy Hopson would have seen Melbourne not make the playoffs.

So what's our key losses for the league? Casper and Kay? Possibly Goulding?

Goulding? Where could he be threatening to go to, retirement?

Europe springs to mind considering it has been mentioned by many, including Liam Santamaria.

Whether it happens or not you'd have to be a dumb dumb to be going "oh I didn’t know that was a possibility" especially if you think he’s more likely to retire lmao

@KET no Lisch and not sure about Bogut yet either and you'd imagine no Jerome Randle either. (3 league MVPs)

I have a hard time imagining a NZ Breakers team where Abercrombie doesn't start, the coach absolutely adores him.

Hopefully Hopson returns as Scotty Hopson and doesn't have some kind of identity crisis and plays like Darington Hobson.

KET, don't get sucked into the usual offseason leaking when a player is a FA, Goulding's days of playing in Europe ended years ago.

Have on very good authority that the Tralee Warriors in the Irish Super League are preparing a huge offer to get Goulding to Europe!!!

If they pull it off, amazing backcourt but that would have to be the weakest frontcourt in the league, Delany/Loe starting

Pretty sure every club in oz would take Delany as it's starting four.

Nah not every club he wouldn't start at the 4 on the 36ers.

Kings neither.
Delany might get a start over Deng.
Would not start over Kay (although no idea what is happening there)
Would not start over Magnay/Patterson
Start for Hawks
Would not start over Wesley (don't know his replacement though)
Might start for Melbourne

Breakers need to re-sign Brandon Ashley. He can play both 4 or 5 well. Was great last season.
