36ers sign Jack Purchase

That is all

Is he better than Pinder? If so, good.

Dave Andersen would actually be a good signing for Adelaide. Yep he's old. Excellent role model and only need to be serviceable for 10-15 minutes.

he's got a nice shot but didn't get much court time with Melb Utd when a development player

Who remembers daddy's 3 pointer - for the opposition - when he tried a cross-court pass to Andrew @ Albert Park?

36ers - where kids of former NBL players go when there's nowhere else.

Giddey, Purchase, Pinder ... who's next? LOL

JvG loves tapping ex-Tigers or their kin on the shoulder - where he first was GM in the 90s.

That's hardly a like for like replacement now. Purchase is soft as butter and just wants to cruise around the perimeter jacking 3's. Hopefully it's just to make up numbers for training.

For the prima donna's in here, who are you getting instead of Jack Purchase? of those players who would be willing to give up their day job to play some games? of those players which would be willing to play for minimum money, unless you are willing to put in a several thousand which you will never get back?

Poor call Hoopie. Giddey is projected as a first round NBA draft pick. It's not like he sucks as a player and is only getting a job through nepotism.

Pinder is hopeless which is obvious to anyone that watches.

Not sure Purchase helps us win games either thou.

They signed him because he's there, plain and simple. Sixers won't spend money on bringing in someone from another state, when whoever it is won't move the needle much. I don't undersstand why they need a replacement at all.

Fair call, Jick - I was just being cynical.

I hope Giddey does get his draft call-up, end of story. BUT I don't think his current circumstances are helping his chances unless he takes control and shows some broader skills than what he's limited to right now.

Terrific pick-up. Great shot. Difficult as a DP to get minutes at MU. All accounts of his training this year have been really good.

I'm basically a Sixers fan at this point. Gotta try to get to a game.

JVG does definitely go with what/who he knows though. He got Copeland and Bradtke up to the Bullets and Gaze/Copeland to coach the Kings.

To be fair, you can't bring in anyone (Aussie or import) from overseas intime to make any real difference before (hopefully) IH is back because of Covid, and a top Aussie player won't come back as injury replacement anyway (yes we could release other players when IH comes back, but will be tough for whoever will be cut to stay focussed until replacement starts when we are already down 2 players, which would probably make things worse in short term).

Also assume there is no Aussie available in the country that would be equivalent to IH, so any player will be a downgrade.

Jack is just a backup. It's unfortunate timing or luck we already have the same thing happening waiting for Branden Paul to start, but can't really control injuries

So what's the point of having Owen Hulland on the bench?
Might as well utilize him in the meantime? - Wouldn't think he would do any worse than Purchase-Boy!

Purchase on the full roster Hulland a DP probably means Purchase will play ahead of him but hopefully Hulland gets more court time now.
