Dunk contest is fading away - there are only so many dunks these guys can come up with - and below the rim stuff is still entertaining.
I think trialling a layup contest would be worth it. If nothing else, for the lols.

They already have a layup contest. It's called the All-Star game.
Plenty of dunks still out there. Just YouTube Jordan Killganon.
The dunk contest just seems to have a lazy feel to it.
If they knew those guys were doing those dunks then surely they wouldn't sign off on it.
If it were me I’d have Aaron Gordon come in half way through WWE style. Come back for a vengeance.
Bring back Shawn Kemp, spud Webb and Brett rainbow. Seeing old blokes try to dunk is far more entertaining.
