SBL was $60'000 so I assume NBL1 is similar or a little more. However likely that he is signed within the cap however "employed" as a casual coach within the clubs development programs that doesn't count towards to cap. Seems to be the loophole clubs get away with.

Mandurah pulling the piss because they know BWA dont investigate the salary cap. Mandurah doing nothing different to other clubs have done in the past. They had to do something as they are pretty irrelevant otherwise. Money talks and bullshit walks.

Magic putting Machado and Travers majority payment under 'Development' is no different to what clubs have done for years. Build a bridge if you dont like it. How can you have a national competition but one conference ha as salary cap?
Scrap and it have it the same as every other league.
If teams over spend and get themselves in a hole then they will only have themselves to blame and perhaps learn from it.

Confirmed through BWA contacts. Masks required and maximum 20 indoors means no chance of nbl1 this weekend or next. The fact full contact sports can be played like footy and rugby yet we can't just because we're indoors is a joke. If it's as highly contagious as they are claiming, expect 100 new cases of footballers and the like early next week if it's true... Absolute joke of a restriction no longer making any sense. Either allow all community sport whether it's indoors or outdoors and be consistent with it

I don't know who made what call on Sunday, but tipoff was at the same time as restrictions kicking in so there may have been some leeway allowed there. Masks were required indoors, including players, thereafter. It's always been done that way.

Even without spectators it's still wildly over the 20 person limit and masks will be required by players. It's not happening. Let it go.

Kobe the rulz are from abc summary of markys announcement

What about community sport?

Professional and outdoor community sports—including training—is permitted, but without spectators.

Indoor community sport is not permitted in the first phase of restrictions.

Once the second phase kicks in, all community sport—both outdoor and indoor—will be able to resume and spectators will be allowed, provided the venue abides by the two-square-metre capacity rule.

Kobe you are wildly wrong yet again and grandstanding like you're correct.

Last weekends directions did not require masks during indoor exercise.

If they revert to the same directions (they may not), then it’ll be mask free when on the court.

So games are not quite off next weekend yet.

Yes, they did. I know some clubs said otherwise, but we went over this with netball last time. Sometimes people just read exemptions into the rules even though they don't exist.

Drunken discussions last night got to discussing what if BWA released an NBL1 West Playlist, with 1 song representing each club. Here's what we came up with:

Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor (Willetton)
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler (Perry Lakes)
Flap Your Wings - Nelly (East Perth)
Magic Stick - 50 Cent (Mandurah)
Pirate Song - Kenny Chesney (Geraldton)
Roar - Katy Perry (Cockburn)
Firestarter - The Prodigy (Rockingham)
Pray - MC Hammer (Lakeside)
Shoot Pass Slam - Shaquille O'Neal (South West)
Boris The Spider - The Who (Perth)
Hound Dog - Elvis (Joondalup)
We Looked Like Giants - Death Cab For Cutie (Goldfields)
Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival (Warwick)
Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden (Kalamunda)

No, you're wrong Kobe. There is no reference to indoor or outdoor when it comes to exercise in last Sunday’s directions.

That’s a key difference and was endorsed virtually everywhere, including Bendat which is government run.

Only HBF said no because the case itself was up that way and it was deemed a risk.

Can’t wait for you to be wrong.

Sunday's restrictions:

Western Australia has recorded one new case of COVID-19 in the community overnight in relation to NSW travel.

As a result, and until public health can confirm if the virus has spread, restrictions will come into effect immediately for the Perth-Peel region for a minimum period of three days.

These restrictions include:

- Mandatory mask wearing indoors, on public transport, and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible, primary school aged children and those who are exempt are not required to wear masks;
- Public events that cannot be restricted to 150 people will be cancelled or played without spectators today - including the Chicken and Beer Festival and AFL West Coast Eagles vs Western Bulldogs match at Optus Stadium. The match will proceed, but without spectators.
- 30-person limit in all homes for private gatherings;
- Hospitality, entertainment venues (including casino and nightclubs), retail, beauty/hairdressers, recreation centres (including gyms, pilates, yoga, dance and swimming pools) and places of worship can remain open, but must comply with the 2 square metre rule, with a maximum of 150 patrons.
- Community sport is permitted.
- Wedding and funerals can also proceed but will be limited to a maximum of 150 attendees.
- Hospitals will have a maximum of four personal visitors permitted per patient per day – masks will be mandatory for staff and visitors.
- Anyone who enters a regional area from the Perth-Peel region is required to wear a mask as per requirements in Perth-Peel, and travel should be minimised. Travel to remote Aboriginal Communities will be restricted.

All these measures will be reviewed regularly and the Chief Health Officer will continue to monitor the serious situation and provide more ongoing advice.

Everyone is urged to continue checking in using the SafeWA app or contact registers, get tested if you feel unwell and visit wa.gov.au/covid19 for further information.

Ethan Elliot is good. I'm pretty sure he’s still high school age I’m not sure he’s a next stars level talent just yet but he’s definitely good enough to go away to school and help his development. He’s also been lucky to have had some pretty good mentors on that Warwick team as well. The NBL experienced vets will have helped him immensely with what it takes to play at a higher level.

Have heard from several different sources from multiple clubs, Summerville could be gone by as early as tonight from both positions up at the Wolves. Believe there has been an urgent Board Meeting called to determine an outcome moving forward for the club, in particular the Men's program.

Ethan Elliot is yet to turn 18, averaging 11 points ppg @ 40%, a tad under 3 assists pg, playing 20 odd min per game against the best WA men have to offer, and you're wondering if the kid can play? Stood up at U18 AJC against the best in his age group, made CoE and NBA Global Academy players look pedestrian. Don't worry, kid can go ok and will thrive when given a chance in Canberra.

Interesting to hear what is happening up in Joondalup. They have a good team on paper but havent been able to pull things together.

At a minimum, the Wolves men's coaching position can no longer be tenable given it's not just their record, but it's the way they are losing too. Then the reports of player and support staff abuse allegations, makes you wonder why they don't just cut their losses with him in all aspects and let one of their plethora of assistant coaches see out the season at the very least. Summerville is doing so bad at the moment, some at the Wolfpack may be doing the seemingly unthinkable and wish they had Ettridge back!

Giants losing to slammers was a low point but you wouldn't imagine Creek is on thin ice with the team being ravaged by injury completely out of his control. He's actually done a good job competing with most teams with a very short handed roster

cooper creek been out most of the season
ballantyne with a season ending injury at the mid way point in season
klaztorny been out since mid way in season
pesava in and out since mid point in season

these guys were all starting for the team when healthy. Not many teams could sustain losing 4 starters for considerable time and continue winning. Especially when other teams have continued stocking up during that time

Another Men's game and yet another loss. Either get rid of this disaster of an appointment Wolves Board or don't expect much support when you each come up for Re-election, starting with you President Hunter. We are an absolute shambles on and off the court in both NBL1 and WABL. We once branded ourselves the Destination of Choice for Basketballers. What a crock that is. Both Warwick and Perry Lakes are significantly ahead of us in almost all areas yet we shove our heads in the sand like nothing is wrong. Not to mention the severe lack of junior development in the Women's program, but then what do our aspiring juniors have to aim for when out NBL1 Women's coach keeps recruiting anyone who can dribble a ball from outside our own club and giving them court time before our own kids. Either stop the bleeding now or step aside so those who do want the club to succeed in the future can show you what you've been doing wrong!
