The WNBL have made changes to the schedule of games this week in line with its COVID health and safety protocols and respective state government close contact requirements.

The following games must be postponed:

Southside vs Perth, January 6 at Dandenong Stadium
Townsville vs Adelaide, January 7 at Townsville Entertainment Centre
Adelaide vs Southside, January 9 at The Lights Community and Sports Centre

It would seem the NBL/WNBL will need to change their rules to get their seasons finished.

As far as what changes, I'm not the right person to make that call.

Although perhaps 8 negative RAT tests on game day with NBL1 players on standby for extra coverage if needed.

Upside could be that if most of the 2 leagues get Covid over the next 2-4 weeks that might allow them to push ahead with less interruptions.

NBL/WNBL rules can't override state/federal law.

@WNBL

Due to COVID protocols the @TownsvilleFire v @BendigoSpirit game on Sunday has been postponed.

The @MelbBoomers will play an additional game against @UCCapitals on Monday, State Basketball Centre at 7pm.

So, until the next postponement, Round 6 looks like this:

Sat 5pm - Melbourne Boomers v UC Capitals [ABC & Fox Sports]

Mon 7pm - Melbourne Boomers v UC Capitals [Kayo]
