Why doesn't BNSW have 14 second shot clock in Junior Champio

BNSW should look to bring the 14 second shot clock into its Junior competitions so they are aligned with other states and Junior National Championships.

Only a few years ago one of their staff said it would be too difficult to teach parents how to do it.

What a load of crap.

Parents would learn if taught correctly as it is used when U/14,U/16/U18 and U/20 Nationals are on the the NSW State teams have to adjust to that play.

OK

I'm taking the 14 sec clock as a pure typeo.

It’d be too hard to get volunteers to do it.

If your kid is great at assists, or just has a few really good quality assists and they should be encouraged, that’s a great thing and encourage it. A good coach will take the time to do it as well.

It’s about developing kids in basketball and life. Individual aren’t that important in juniors, to me anyway. If you watch the game and notice little "extras" from individual player, just recognise it and keep encouraging them with the specifics of what they did. Example: it was great to see the court vision and the way you saw your teammate. That pass to him on the low cut set up the play. Also, notice it in other players, not just your own kid.

Another good strategy is if 2 adults recognise good play to each other. Some kids hear too much hollow praise, but really notice: if the 2 adults say it was good between themselves, it can’t be hollow praise.

UseTaHoop, what are you talking about Assists.

It has nothing to do with the topic.

The topic is about BNSW bringing in the 14 second shot clock as part of their junior rep competition because it is used at Nationals which players should be used to before they get to the Nationals.
