Houston pick up option on Jae'Sean Tate

What a great story this has been he comes here from the lowly Belgian league an undersized PF who probably wasn't expected much from at Sydney played his heart out and had a good season.

Then Weaver leaves the Kings for a pot on the Rockets coaching staff convinces them to take a look at Tate, he gets a 3 year deal that most would've expected he would never make it to the end of but he's been balling in the NBA and will be getting a big pay day next year.

Jae'Sean Tate will be back with the Houston Rockets.

Which is not a surprise. Tate, a wing who started 77 games for Houston last season and averaged 11.8 points a game, had a team option on his contract for $1.8 million. That's a steal, and the Rockets picked it up, reports Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Tate will now be a restricted free agent next summer and can expect a healthy pay raise.

Yesterday in contradiction of that report the Rockets declined their team option on Tate which suggested a new deal for him was in the works and today it's happened Tate has re-signed with the Rockets to a 3 year deal for $22.1 million.

Well done.
