France v Canada game of the day, I think the Serbs will give Japan a scare but probably just fall short. Other games will be blowouts IMO

Serbia 69 d Japan 64 is an interesting result. Maybe not a good one for the Opals.

Japan women under this guy, not the same as Horvasse.

Went with 4 relatively new guards, 2 of which normally play 3x3, only miyazaki has good exp. I remember when they had fujioka(who retired early because of injury), motohashi in the backcourt with backups of machida and miyazaki(who took yoshidas spot). The frontline has not changed in some time. Tokashiki, Takada as the c's, Akaho, Mawuli sisters, Okoye and Miyazawa the forwards.
They don’t play with same ball movement and speed. 3 pt attempts also down and dribble drives.

I'm watching France v Canada ... on mute. Commentators annoying as hell.

It’s obvious France is a confidence team, and Canada has frustrated them and dented their confidence. Quite a low scoring game. France’s finishing is like ours last night, and their body language looks like ours did too. I can see Canada topping our group.

Opals have picked up right where they left off last night. Poor offensive options and sloppy passes.

Why aren't we seeing Wallace n Maley...
Tolo should start from now on, it’s clear.

Jackson is old but still the smartest player we got, her and Tolo turned it.

Should be plenty of scope for some Maley time.
Hopefully won't need LJ again.

Piling on the points and getting a good margin would be beneficial. Could come down to points difference.

To me this game is an opportunity to have restricted minutes for the older legs of LJ, Tolo & Sami, and to a lesser extent Allen & Talbot, all of whom we're likely to rely heavily on in the real games.

I'd like to see a ton of Maley, Garbin & Blicavs, and plenty of Wallace.

LJ the bomb
Timmsy best commentator
The coach awful, the tantrum yesterday unbearable to watch. How about someone with actual skills or intelligence like seebohm or LJ?

What about Timmsy with Jackson as an assistant.

Seebohm would be good but if hired imagine the uproar from the females who missed out.

I thought Seebohm too but you need a hc that can really boot them up the bum.

Timmsy has never head coached and has openly said that she doesn't want to.

Seebolm seems to be well respected by all. So I doubt we’d see too much of an uproar, unlike say if an ex male footballer was replaced in the footy commentary team by a current female footballer. Males can be a little touchy about these sorts of gender issues, it seems they prefer to see themselves reflected in leadership positions and the media they consume, weird I know.

No, you need a HC who knows the game, prepares the group well, makes good tactical changes and gets the group to set standards the players know they have to maintain.
