SEM @ Breakers

Hopefully a strong fan turnout in Christchurch. Southerners support their sports teams well and I think given the population growth in that region the NBL should seriously consider a South Island New Zealand team, which would create a heated rivalry with the Breakers immediately.

This will be a close game. SEM matches up against NZ well. Creek v Brantley will be the key.

Very much looking forward to this. Creek and Brantley, Browne and Le'afa, Williams and Pardon, Broekhoff and Abercrombie, Kell and Brown. Lots of fun match-ups in this one.

Agree, be great to see nbl team out Christchurch. Don't forget earlier start in Australia.

On the game, should be great contest, I’m of the thinking both these sides are the kings challengers. Hopefully home court advantage gets breakers over the line. Good contest in all positions, Abercrombie on Broekhoff should be a highlight, Brantley v Creek another. Let’s hope the refs don’t call rubbish and let them play. Breakers by 2.

People talking up SEM, I just don't trust them, their talent doesn’t fit and they aren’t a well coached group, much respect for Adnam and what he’s been able to achieve in his career, but too many times he’s taking the last shot of the quarter/ shot clock winding down, with a highly talent import sitting in the corner watching, imo a lot of their problems would be fixed by removing Adnam from the rotation...

Breakers by 12

LOL thats all basketball has become
Make your 3s, win the game, do not make them, just go home.
Why even bothering playing?
Just set up the racks around the arc and see who sinks the most 3s.
At least you will save on time and injuuries

Horrible decision on Loe, the block rule is reffed different every week, if you don't don’t guess a call.

WMW is the best point guard for the euro, fiba type game, his ability to control the game is fantastic. Barry Brown is a gun as well.

NZ 63 points at the half, the fat lady is not singing but she is getting ready. SEM so far been not allowed to play at their pace, Creek not getting any space to do what he does, defensively never been great. Game certainly not over but, oh my what start though.

110 - 84 to NZ

Demolition job in the end on some hot shooting from outside
Massive games from Barry Brown Jnr and Rob Loe

Williams and Pardon probably halved there match ups, every other player from SEM got beat and some very easy. No comparisons between the benches. You don't win grand finals halfway through the season but breakers certainly putting their hand up. Absolutely well oiled machine, much credit to the coaches.

Imagine the Breakers' points tallies of late if NBL was still a 48 minute game.

WMW was so composed and Barry Brown Jnr was just a stone cold killer. He just got to the rim with so much ease and hit some huge 3's.

Phoenix made some plays and hit some shots but NZ went 14 from 25 to SEM only making 5 of 22 from outside. The rebounding, assist and turnover numbers were close or at least their abouts but the Breakers just converted mistakes into points extremely efficiently.

When Pardon picked up some early fouls defending Williams and Loe came on, he made an instant impact especially on the scoreboard.

NZ offensively are so good that there three point shooters have time, not under enormous pressure.

Kyle Adnam -30 and played more minute than Browne.

Time to go Kyle! Addition by subtraction - maybe he can get a game in Illawarra.

I'm done with coach Mitchell, year 1 I thought he did well and manufactured wins against more talented teams but since then SEM have been kinda loaded and haven’t been close - surprise surprise SEM get dismantled by a well coached team.

I’d replace Mitchell with Fearne yesterday!

+/- isn't the be all stat but SEM’s bench stands out like dogs balls

Adnam -30

Terangi - 20

Pineau - 20

Smith Milner -10 in less than 3 minutes

Madut - 10

This is not a championship contender...

I did not expect that.

Loe has been playing well whenever he's been available. If he can stay healthy, and Rupert comes back, this is a seriously deep team.

As a team SEM weren’t bad, but there were some individual matchups the Breakers exploited over and over again. Kell was a turnstile.

SEM overrated, again, and not really a contender.

Mitchell is comfortably the worst head coach in the league.
