United @ Kings - Sun 25th Dec

6:30pm tip NSW/VIC.

Keen for this, largely because Xmas evenings are usually boring af and starved of basketball because the NBA doesn't schedule Xmas Eve games.

Hope the turn out in Sydney is really good. Also hoping for a close game. I think Sydney by 6-7 but would prefer to see United get up so they can keep in the hunt for a play-in spot.

Agreed, great time and day to have the game, well done nbl- LK.

Goulding, Barlow out, Cooks in not going to make it any easier for United. I'm hoping for a close game, good contest but think kings got this covered, just so much depth.

Kings by 12 plus.

Looking quite a good crowd, 5/6g, commentary leaving a bit to be desired.

Sydney looking so strong at 1/4 time, hopefully it's not a belting so can get some new fans, need exciting finish.

If a foul does not get called every 30 seconds, will something very very bad happen in the world?

Imo the refs have done very well, called the right fouls but let them play.

Is Glover moving ahead of DJ in the depth chart? Much more solid all round game.

I believe Glover has been better than DJ, should be good for other sides looking for players, starting with the hawks.

I have no doubt the referees are given clear instructions that a certain amount of points need to be scored in a game....like in there KPIs or something.

Shame they let the rope go in the last few minutes of the third quarter. Overall happy with the product, hopefully enough of us were watching that the tv people like it.

Sydney just to strong in the end. Humphries very good for United, his defence around the bucket great. Cooks and Tucker great. Score line blew out but overall an excellent game.

LOL United committed 27 fouls.

I would imagine if you are a referee it would be soooo easy to gamble on a game and manipulate a result to your advantage, just Donaghy did all those years.

But but but analytics.
So many clown coaches in this league.
Analytics is the biggest con job ever sold to sports.

But but but 3s are worth more than 2.
How did that workout for you tonight United?

Jacket reminds me of Kevin Bartlett complaining that football should still be one out in forward line with a full forward kicking bags and 100+ in a season.

Old style v new would simply get blown out of the water with pace and opportunities.

You are not beating the kings jacking up threes unless they go in, every miss is a push the ball fast break score. They run so hard and fast. Slow the game down, put up good shots and have defenders back.
Kings are the new Perth, well financed, well run, well coached, doesn't always mean you win it but they will be knocking on the door for a while. Keeping the core of there Australian players will help, they seem to have the ability to get good imports.

KET, im assuming due to staffing issues at the arena. Staff that work there wouldn't have expected to work on Christmas day.

If they needed staff, they would've found them, especially on double or triple pay for the evening. Capacity isn’t being reduced because a few people don’t want to show up to work.

Fair enough, but it was reduced, so what other reason might there be?

7000 was a great start, capacity reduced you would think because 1st time event and it'll take time to build.

Capacity was reduced because they weren't expecting to sell enough tickets to make a higher capacity worthwhile.

Yeah what kr said.

Operating costs for the game would've been very high. Kings would’ve done their diligence, worked out the budget they wanted to commit to and chosen capacity thereafter.
