You would be correct, Sabretooth. West are going all in

Hmmm, Dean at a club splashing out the money, what are the odds.
And looks like a bit of an exodus from Norwood heading there as well.

Damn, they just announced McCarron to west as well.

Forestville will still have the best lineup in the league if they run it back and would still favour South over this lineup too.

Plus Desantis and another big if they can recruit over Hunter.

@Esky68 depends what they classify Drmic as but McCarron is a restricted player and will take an import spot, Drmic could quite possibly.

+ I'm hearing Tom Daly to Sturt so they will be in the mix.

NBL1 teams have 38 points for 15 players with the following allocation.
Both McCarron & Drmic are averaging over 20 minutes per game so would be 10 point players leaving 18 points for the rest of the squad. There is a 50% discount if it is your junior club or you have played 100 CABL/Premier/NBL1 games for the club but don't think either player qualifies for this reduction. Restricted players are limited to 2 per team & are players in categories 1-5 (that is are worth ten points or more) Oceania players are not considered restricted players.
Category Points
1. A player who is not a citizen of a FIBA Oceania member who is required under the Rules of FIBA to hold an annual Foreign Player's License. 12
2. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has played in the NBA (excluding the NBA Summer League) or the WNBA in the prior three seasons. 12
3. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has played an average of 20 minutes or more per game in games played in the immediate previous completed WNBL or NBL season as published by Basketball Australia from time to time. 10
4. Any FIBA Oceania player that has competed in a team at a Senior FIBA Basketball World Cup and/or a Senior FIBA World Cup Qualifier in the last twelve months. (The twelve-month period prior to the set submission date of team lists to the league manager) 10
5. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has last* played in a Senior Euro League Team or any Senior Division 1 competition in the countries set out in the Restricted Foreign Leagues Table 1 in the last twelve months. 10
6. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has last played in a competition in the countries set out in the Foreign Leagues Table 2. 5
7. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has played an average of 5 or more minutes, but less than 20 minutes per game in games played in the immediate previous completed NBL or WNBL season as published by Basketball Australia from time to time. 5
8. Any player that has an approved Permanent Resident Visa for Australia & does not fit into any above category. 5
9. Any FIBA Oceania member citizen who has played less than an average of 5 minutes per game in games played in the immediate previous completed NBL or WNBL season as published by Basketball Australia from time to time. 3
10. Any player who has last* played in a basketball league in a foreign country other than those set out in Category 5 & 6.
Note: Australian players returning from a US College program other than NCAA Division 1 colleges are excluded from this Category. 3
11. Players who do not meet any of the above criteria. 1

It would be impossible to have two 10 point NBL players and a 12 point import

Pasadena 72 - Sturt will be the best of the rest unless they have at least 3 or 4 players of Tom's calibre to keep up with West and South.
West are embarking on an era - they have all the right people in the right spots to promote the club - may well see a decade of dominance.

If Forestville bring back this past seasons lineup it will again be biggest lineup in league history. DJ, Purchase, Brine, Machar and Mays. But only has one very good guard in Doyle.
West wheels out one of best perimeter lineups in MM, Spear, Desantis and Drmic. But who have they got in terms of a decent big?
Both have great talent but look very unbalanced.
Woodville announced both imports are back but what about Humphries? Without him they'll be back in the bottom half.

The way I understand it DJ wouldn't be able to play at West with Drmic and McCarron, too many points.
Maybe he will go back to Forestville or Sturt? Or maybe Norwood who have been quiet but are always contenders.

And plus Dech if either he or Drmic average less than 20 minutes in NBL.

IMO early rankings -
West v F'ville in men
West v South in women
West would have to be favourites in both at this stage
