Good game, quality start by both sides.

Excellent first quarter by both teams, Brisbane hopefully make play inns, they deserve it. Hukporti doing well, JLA out muscled by Harrison. Copeland turning into a very good commentator. Talks sense and about the game.

Goulding just comes out and takes the game away, unbelievable. Sobey just not good at present.

Well excellent first quarter by Brisbane, when Melbourne get rolling with Goulding and Clarke banging in threes like layups no one beats them. United just one complete unit coached by a very experienced knowledgeable coach. Brisbane are so much better but still lack depth, Mitchell, McDaniel, Harrison been good for bullets, there guards struggling, Sobey just head shaking with no imput what so ever.
I'm off to last quarter of nba.

Brisbane are solid just lack top end talent around Sobey. Baynes contract coming off the books will help.

Great first quarter by the Bullets, but the wheels have completely fallen off

What's happened to Shannon Scott?

Is Sobey still top end talent, I'm certainly not convinced, his best days are gone. Like a lot sides, bullets need a better point guard, Scott is serviceable but you are not winning enough games with him.

Sobey is obviously good, but he's not the #1 option Brisbane has desperately needed for years to take a step up in the NBL's pecking order.

Baynes will likely be re-signed at a portion of what he's currently on. Even then, the onus is on Bullets management (lol) to go and get a reliable star player.

Easier said than done, but Brisbane can't just keep filling the roster with role players and expect any modicum of success.

The last All-NBL player on board was Lamar Patterson. When he was in shape his first season or two he was a superb scorer and exactly what was needed. (unfortunately he lost the will to remain fit and the wheels completely fell off)

interesting to see what Brisbane can get with Baynes money, they've got some nice pieces and a good structure.

All NBL level PG

Also apparently you can just remove the marquee status from players now - Sobey or Baynes (I bet I can guess which one) will be taken off marquee status to allow for an import. Anyone know the impact of that - IIRC marquee salaries didn't count towards the cap?
