Worthy of a thread.
Highest score in the modern 40 minute era - is that right?

Correct, overtaking Goulding's 10 year record of 50

MaxM

Not to take away from this in any way, but man the Wildcat's defence is shithouse lol

Luuuc

This record will stand for at least a week thanks to the FIBA break

Yes, in the current 40 min era. Al Green still holds the all-time game high of 71.

Indeed MaxM, still an incredible feat regardless but yeah, Perth have now let CG drop 46 and Batemon 51

Hard to imagine Al Greens record ever being broken

My call of Bullets having terrible imports yesterday aged well.
Can talk about defence being terrible but he still made the shots, a few tough threes as well as some great drives.

Be careful or you'll upset a few on here, unless you don't care (like me).
The truth is the truth.

Really happy for him considering he was struggling a bit early. Happy for Brisbane too. They needed a bit of life.

Unbelievable performance. His pull-up is tough to guard and he shoots it without a conscience. He's hung tough through a difficult start, took the benching on the chin and has come out the other side.

I also questioned Brisbane's imports but if they can continue in this form they are going to surprise, maybe challenge for the six.

And seems like a decent, humble guy, great story to see how he's turned it around from even a month ago. too bad this story has been overshadowed by the nonsense out of Melbourne.
Reg Biddings 63 pt all-time 40-minute record seems out of reach though.

Yes his press conference was very humbling, does come across as a top quality person.

And Schueller had to take him off with 4 secs left. Why not let him stay on the court & enjoy! What DP needs 4 secs of playtime. Wanker!!

word14

AlexK, biddings did his in the 48 minute era. And Orbit, there's nothing wrong with taking him off, let him enjoy his standing ovation

Dunkman
Last year
@ word14, yep exactly, he deserved his own standing ovation. Scheuler coached very well.

Wrong, Reg did it in 1981, which was 40 mins. The NBL changed to 48 mins in 1984.

Huh. Looks like one person's wanker move is another person's classy move.

I think it's fairly standard in high-level games, to allow outstanding individual performances to be recognised separately from the team’s.
I’m ok with it unless it stops the player or team from achieving some milestone.

Yeah it's completely typically, surprised anyone took the substitution move like that. If he yanked him with 49 points it's a dick move, but the whole reason for yanking him with 4 seconds is so he gets his applause. See things like this all the time in basketball.
