Frankston Big V teams

Its disappointing for the kids that Frankston are still playing for no points. Surely the management have to pay the fine, or at least make an arrangement to pay if they are short of cash.

I though that was resolved ages ago.Surely it cant be going on. Sounds like a Mexican standoff...

Not sure if it is Mexican standoff, from what I gather, and I am from neither Big V or Frankston, Big V said your fined, Frankston said no, Big V said pay or lose games, Frankston said too bad.

If the fines are legitimate, then pay them, it seems to me that without all facts other than previous threads about this that Franga is in the wrong, needs to suck it up and get on with it.

The players must be very disillousioned to see that no matter how hard they bust there guts they are on a win to nowhere. One of their players came on a thread a while ago and said they don't care they play for the love but that can only last so long

Why doesn't the league get some balls and give them a deadline. If it isn't payed they are out of the competition. So instead of their teams playing for no points they don't play at all.

Pretty embarrassing for the league. I just read one of the Round Reviews on their website that made me laugh:

It was something to the effect of - Diamond Valley lost Saturday night but bounced back with a win on Sunday vs Frankston (reality was Frankston won comfortably but score then changed to 20-0 in favour of DV).
What a joke.

Is is correct that Frankston also is in a conflict with basketball Victoria because they do not want to add the Melbourne UTD patch to the vjbl player uniforms ?

I see the Frankston YLW won well this weekend but still got the 0 - 20 loss. When is this going to end, as the follower of another YL team this is not only embarrassing for Frankston but the whole league. I know we had a poster recently saying they were one of the Frankston players and that they played for the love of the game, but surely enough is enough.

So apparently the points will not be reinstated if Frankston pay the fees. Is that correct?

Does that mean that their teams will be relegated at the end of the season?

Do not think the relegation from VYC is automatic but seems to depend upon factors such as whether the club can see themself having a pipeline of good young players coming through ...

having said that it it seems very strange that Frankston and BigV both are prepared to continue this silly tit for tat stuff resulting in no points for a win.

Do the other VYC clubs care about it enough to get it resolved for the benefit of all players ? It does no good for the league overall and just makes people think basketball has become an organisational joke

Maybe the league should kick them out?

Or the club (and other clubs) should form a breakaway league again?

Frankston not only on the nose with BigV but the state government ignored them again in the state budget.Club no closer to getting a new stadium.

It has been said before on this forum, but until the Frankston CEO and Board put their egos aside and do what's best for its own players and families, the place will continue to go down hill!

If Frankston is breaking the rules why do the Big V team not stop them from playing games ? Maybe time for both parties to be forced to get together to resolve the issues ? Lock them in a room and nobody gets out before they have issues resolved ??

No wonder basketball is increasingly in on the nose and struggles to attract sponsors

Think you'll find that fines were administered, appealed fines to Big V, lost, appealed to Basketball Vic, told Big V issue, lost, still refuse to pay up.

Ball is well and truly in Frankston court. Made aware that forfeits were going to happen until fines paid well before the Dandenong tournament.

Think someone else summed it up in another thread Jolly good times at Franga.

Sorry but nobody really care about what the fines are for but if somebody have the record then go ahead and share .

Frankly

Everyone just wants the club to join the rest of the basketball community and play by the rules for the benefit of all , not the least the players and all the volunteers.

The fines are for not meeting presentation standards at last years games. They failed to provide announcers, court wipers, programs etc.

If its true they refuse to pay the fine and meet the requirements of the competition then why are they allowed to continue to compete?

I wonder if players will depart Frankston at the end of the season. This isn't exactly supporting the players and neither is the poor presentation for their games.

I wouldn't want to play there that's for sure....

In their juniors, 16/1 boys in Met 2 and not one of their VC teams look like making VC at the half season cut in 3 rounds, seems there are issues flowing through the ranks from a playing perspective. The fish rots at the head and it would seem on results that they are unable to attract players anymore.

From previous posts, BV said go away, where now, BA? What if they say no, FIBA?

The consensus seems to be if you do the crime do the time, pay it and move on. To Big V, time to stand up and say no more games, you're out. Lance the boil and spare any further embrrassment to the league, none the least the teams that have to play them knowing it is a waste of time.

Good point by 'develop your own'

Are they going to continue to play? Where is the integrity of the competition???
