Lightning Academy - 36ers Academy??

Fantastic to see Rachel Sporn and a host of great coaches helping to bridge the gap from state league- WNBL with the Academy concept.
Why don't the 36ers do something similar for their male counterparts??

Link for 36ers academy? Our best juniors having some form of linkage with the Sixers not those scrubbers used as training bait. Joey doesn't have a "pro junior developmental" bone in his body so I think you will find this is complete BS.
Just recruit another washed up yank or someone from another state. Well done to the Lightning.

Ask Kyle Adnam if Joey has a pro development bone in his body.

Ask Adam Gibson

Ask Chris Goulding

Ask Nathan Sobey

Ask Matt Hodgson

Apparently its also Joey's fault that there aren't enough local kids with NBL capacity

Sixers have the Dream Academy. It's where the Sixers training players like the Indian they signed train in.

Simon: Joey wright doesn't have a pro junior developmental bone in his body? He COACHES talented juniors weekly FOR FREE, because he believes in them. He plucks young kids out of div 3 as 12 year olds and without being showy works with them behind closed doors.

Need I remind some of you twats that when Sobey first showed up at the Sixers, he was signed to a 3 year deal based on Joey seeing something in him... something h wasn't proving to many others. Sobey would step on the court for a min or 5 a game and the crowd would groan and some would whinge he was on...

Joey worked for HOURS on top of group practise to polish Sobey, to teach him to shoot with confidence amongst other things ... he's still a work in progress.

Those who know, know.
Those who don't, talk shit LOUDLY when they weren't a Sobey fan just 12 months prior.

owned again Simon.

Joey is one of the only coaches in the NBL who grooms younger players. Chris Goulding started as a DP with the Bullets when no one else was interested in him.

Joey is currently putting a lot of hours into a kid he thinks will be better than CJ Bruton

Like the person above said just because you don't see this doesn’t mean it isn’t happening

You either know or you don’t .

Unfortunately most just don't know! Or it just doesn't happen?

I think the original post was asking if the 36ers had a youth development program, not what Joey does or doesn't do. The Lightning are quite open and transparent with their pathways.

So do the flagship team in this state have a youth feeder program or not? Put up or shut up.

The 6ers have been starved of talent locally from SA for quite a lonnnng period of time.

There is a lot of youth talent coming through now and in 4-5 yrs there is a chance for the 6ers to be packed with local talent.

Dream Academy was a decent band from the 80's!

This is not a Sixers program rather a $ based program that happens to have Joey on staff? The SA basketball public aren't stupid.
Something like the Adelaide Buffaloes or the Academy Paul Bell and Scott Ninnis put together in the early 2000's that was a direct link to the Phil Smyth coached Sixers.
Dunlap was extremely pro active prior to this period in the 90's.
Basketball today is about the $$ and who can do an individual session for some ridiculous amount.

That kid supposedly with be potential to cj only has his similar initials, watching south games he needs a LOT of work from Joey. Only dribbles with one hand and constantly bitching to refs when he gets beaten, Al seems to find them, not as big a clown as Daniel Sims but looks like similar ego.
