do we need to change our junior age groups?

Victoria are now running u11, 13, 15,17 etc

and bendigo tournament ran the american style 11 & under, 12 & under, 13 & under etc

so if I was a second year u16 now - i would be allowed to play in 15 & under

what do you think?

Actually, Victoria Country are running U13, 15 etc officially for all their championships. They do not run U11.

Most of the Vic Country domestic associations are running this way as well.

The change was not implemented for Championship, it was implemented for the benefits it brings at domestic.

Those benefits in summary are:

* kids can play effectively another year of juniors at U19 which is a motivator for keeping girls in particular in the sport at this grouping.
*you get a slightly better grouping of kids domestically at U10's and U12's level

Our age groups are decided by FIBA. If you are able to get FIBA to change them for their Junior World Championships, sure go right ahead. But really what good would changing the age groups be.
