Mitch Creek to captain 36ers

Jerome Randle is vice-captain.

MITCH Creek has carved his name into Adelaide 36ers' club immortality with his NBL teammates voting him into the captaincy.

Creek, 24, is the same age as club legend Brett Maher when he first was elected Sixers’ captain in 1997, a position he held for a record 13 years.

The appointment came in Maher’s sixth season while Creek in 2016-17 enters his seventh, albeit with his career interrupted midway by an Achilles rupture.
Full story

Very young team so not sure that there were many alternatives with Gibson and Petrie leaving. Creek has been committed and shows unrivalled passion amongst his teammates.

Congrats Mitch - well deserved. A role he was destined to fulfill, and which he has I think now proven that he has the maturity to hold down. He is in addition a personality to rival that of Maher and a gifted enough speaker to present well to the media.
