Can a losing team have the MVP in Trimble

Wonder if he has a "You Guys are Crap" Out clause?

Too soon to say, but he dominates a game like Randle. Randle quicker and better ball handler, Trimble better size at the position.

Cairns needs to start Rob Loe at PF, Alex Loughton retires and if Cody Ellis is still there sign him for the year.

Casper is still the best point guard defender, Trimble and Randle no where near it defensively

Every point Trimble scores, he gives away with poor defence.

Randle and Trimble are more skilled, but tbh I'm taking Ware because he's a team player and can defend. At least he defends when he wants to. Don't think the other two can quite frankly.

Considering the talent at point guard, you gotta have someone who will buckle down defensively.

So Trimble should be signing with Brisbane next season then.

Even DJ Newbill not defending like last season, maybe he's following his other imports on defence. Cairns never going anywhere without playing defence.

Cairns aren't going anywhere without spending over the cap.

No sympathy for Kelly, he picked the team. Could have done better than the 3 Perth rejects

Melo is a stud, Newbill is what we expected and Hall is a flat out dud.

Trimble, Cotton, Ware and Randle. Just a bunch of imports who only get it done on one end

Randle is underrated defensively, IMO. His size hurts him on that end, but he works harder than folks give him credit for.

Ware can play defence, Cotton not as good defensively but makes up in other areas. They are the best two.

Saw Trimble live for the first time last night, the kid can play.
Creates 'time' beautifully.
He is as good a offensive player(with great vision) as any we have seen, but there is something not right defensively, at times looking disinterested(probably just exhausted from carrying Cairns all night!!)

Trimble is a first-year professional, yeah he shouldn't be as good on defence as veterans! Damo is still the best pg on defence. Cotton considering his size doesn't do to bad, he gets steals and a surprising number of boards, ware annoys ne but he is at a minimum solid at both ends. Comparing players is rather difficult, situations are hard to compare, imagine trimble on that sydney team, with bogut covering up any defensive lapses, i would be inclined to choose Trimble, looks a better 3pt shooter and has the size.

Trimble will end up at a bigger NBL club next year or go overseas.

Trimbles style of play I think, gives us a sneak preview into what sort of player Cairns youngster Tamuri Wigness could be, a similar use of his body in tight situations and ability to create space....

he just makes it look so effortless. he never seems forced or panicked, always finds time and space for the shot. he's a hell of a find.

.. which is why it's been painful watching the ex defensive player of the year and ex Melbourne defensive coach being unable to coax a coherent defensive performance out of this playing group. Or close out tight games for that matter.

In Dean Vickerman's first year as head coach the Breakers were close to the worst defensive team in the league. Deano learned from his mistakes and his teams have been quality at that end since, hell he even had the Kings defending a couple of years ago!
