How many development players allowed per a team ?

How many development players allowed per a team ? I thought it was 2 but read 4 on Kings site but see quite a few teams only having 2 listed ?

Having the 4 each team would benefit the 2nd tier leagues as players will feel they have a good shot at getting a DP spot coming out of the 2nd tier league.

Can DP's be added mid season as well ?

What age does the player need to be under ?

Four but you don't have to use all the spots

Can't be added mid season

Have to be under 25 by April 1

The Wildcats only have 2, Cummings and Michaels. They do have en extended development squad, but only 2 official DPs. Last season they had 3 - Vague, Cummings and Bragg.

It used to be that the Official Development Squad was much bigger. Maximum of 10 IIRC.

But yes, they dropped it to 4, which was somewhat pointless because the teams that run development programs simply have "unofficial" squads.

The only difference is that your official DPs can play. One per game, or more as designated Injury replacements.

NB: Pretty sure the cutoff date is 30th April. Basically they can't turn 25 (or older) before the end of the season.

Yeah most teams run with 25 guys for the majority of pre-season and like above they have an unofficial squad for training sessions
