Westernport sign Corletto

Just saw the Steelers have signed Daryl Corletto. That's probably as big a signing we will this year in Big V.

One would think him playing in that D1 comp is going to hand them the C’ship. Especially with the legit import they have!

He is a bit older but I would have thought, Ash Cannon for Bellariene is pretty big he will dominate as well at that level

New Womens coach too, initiating a "re-build".
Could be a big year down the Peninsula ? New stadium too.
Luke knows what he's doing, men will be hard to stop. Best of luck to them.

Is big V really so bad that Corletto at this age swings the comp??

Does everyone forget how corletto actually played? Never a guy who relied on athleticism. Super high iq, shifty ball handler who could shoot piss out of it. I think he'll still be super effective playing the same way in big v level.
Not nbl caliber anymore but will still help and I’m sure many teams would be happier if on their side than having to play against him.

He's only recently turned 37, it’s not that old, especially for the way he plays. Good signing

Great signing. Don't know why people are down playing this signing.

They’ll have the best import and best coach in the league. Most of their team returning (remember they finished equal second) and now add an experienced NBL champion.

Corletto is moving down that way from all reports so makes sense for both parties.

Corletto will be huge at this level this level isn't exactly the athletic pinnacle of basketball so age won't be a factor when he is probably in better shape than most of the league anyway.

As mentioned WP is a real threat, but then so will Coburg, Shep & Warrnambool if they get 2 imports & Bulleen have had some big signings as well, yet too make any noise though, Most of the other teams will make up numbers. The winner will come form the above mentioned teams.

Only really three teams in with a shot, Westernport, Coburg then a bit to Bulleen.

Everyone only allowed 1 import this year even the country teams.

Bellarine with Ash Cannon and all the Geelong guys are a smokey, they lead the rest of the pack ahead of Sunbury, Warnambool, Shep, Melb Uni in the battle for the last few spots in playoffs.

Why are Coburg favourites? Big jump from D2 to d1...

How are you putting all those teams over keysie who signed Ivan from McKinnon and have a 6"8 import coming plus resigned back their entire time and finished second. They lost to Shepparton in the playoffs with 2 imports and the other 3 teams you mentioned didn't even make the playoffs what logic are you going off of.

Coburg would be up there with recruits, former SCM Import Mike Fortune & Malou

WP with Corletto

Sunbury have got a returnee

Bellarine will be strong with that group and Ash

Hi anonymous good to see that your a Keysie person as you have given us an insight into their so called star studded team. I was there a few years ago and mate same coach who coaches like a domestic coach, will never be the team they should be while he is there sorry. Great bunch of fellas but lost 7 games plus 2 finals when they should have beaten Shep but didn't.

So how is your logic making sense mate lost 7 games didn't shepp lose 7 games didn’t western port lose 7 games didn’t they finish second. Should have beaten shepp maybe but if you think 2 imports don’t make a difference then you most likely don’t know basketball especially at the d1 level where teams have 1 import nothing to brag about. The other teams you named all lost 10/11 games respectively.

Lol keysie resigned the entire team. Maybe don't tell them their starting point guard has also signed at Pakenham. Others tried out at other clubs but didn’t make it

All this information is non-factual besides Darryl Corletto signing, Coburg & Bellerine news and a few others....Who has actually left Keysborough? Why is WP going to be so good? Bulleen? Warrnambool? Shep? Melb Uni etc....No names are No news...

agree no names no news ....

lets throw some names in there, make them up people if you have to.

Has anyone seen the euro-kid Bulleen have had down at training?? He was playing at McKinnon and bounced around a few VJBL clubs but looks good.

Keysie players shop around as soon as season finishes but no one really offers them anything so they stay, easy training easy lifestyle easy coaching, again great bunch of fellas but 1 title (d2) in about 20 years. Am I bitter probably, didn't get much of a go when even the team struggled and coach played his fav's

Oh yeah I remember when Keysy were around back in 1998 - NOT

Maybe continue with a fact check before you continue with your personal vendetta

Some people on here thinking he will dominate are kidding themselves. Like someone pointed out early in the post all he does is shoot threes so pretty easy to guard. Just play your 2nd or 3rd best defender on him and play no help and run him off the 3 point line. If he wants to drive in let him. Remember adam ballinger played even a division below that in big v and didn't dominate and ballinger with his size you'd think would be someone to dominate a lower level.
