Boomers WC prep less than ideal

Here is a summary of events that have led up until last night's game vs USA.

Boomers World Cup preparation a marketing and public relations disaster

Fair to say it has been less than ideal!

We have just 1 more form exhibition game before heading to China, and apparently a few closed sessions organised against other countries once we arrive in China.

Rich Paul watching Ben Simmons knocking down threes & fadeaway jumpers!

That could have been for the boomers

Great summary. You almost don't realise how bad of a trainwreck its been until you look at every single thing thats happened so far.

What was once the most hyped and promising boomers campaign of all time has just turned into a massive mess and PR disaster for Australian basketball. Such a shame.

Yes, its been a clusterfuck.

But frankly, the writing has been on the wall for some time
Lemanis' selections beggar belief, and seem to have more to do with him playing favourites and rewarding those who suck up to him. You'd think he was coaching the local juniors.
That's not going to go down well with the egos of the NBA.

I also never understood why, in this environment, the squad was cut before the exhibition games. Sure they should have been used as the final testing ground?

The coach is also less than ideal.

I'm guessing because that leaves them with too little time to finalize rotations. The World Cup is, what, a week away?

Needed larger training camp and earlier as well. Australia used lot players in qualifying more needed to stake there claim.

The common denominator in all of this: Basketball Australia. Change needs to happen in this organisation otherwise the same problems will keep on occurring.

At the very least, be a bit more strategic in their selections.
I love Kay, I'm glad he shone at the tryouts, and I'm stoked he's been given this opportunity.
But maybe they should have cut the squad to 14~15, kept Motum in the team and Kay as backup.
Then at least use the Canadia games as a test.

And left Adel in as long as possible to get used to the system

Yeah definitely with Adel, and even have Green in with the group learning it too.

"The common denominator in all of this: Basketball Australia"

Brilliant insight to say the sports governing body is the problem of the sports governing body.

Well more specifically the current regime. A complete clean out is required.
