Sydney Kings 4-0 & looking the goods

Kings looking good but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet, 4 games into a very long season and anything can happen.

Let's also not forget, as so often is the case when a team becomes "successful", the massive amount of work and sacrifice that has been put in over the last 3 years to get the club where it today. There are so many people on so many levels (love them or hate them) that have sacrificed in so many areas to re-build this club. Success does not happen overnight and the only reason they are 4 an 0 and looking the goods is a collective effort of everyone who has done time at the club over the last four years, owners, management, staff, players and spectators alike.

Great effort to all concerned.
Still love to hate the Kings but would also hate not to love the work they have done.

Success can happen quickly if you have talent and a competent coach. It took the Kings several years to learn that.

Much better floor spacing and ball movement compared to last few years. Finally getting some production and toughness defensively at the 4 spot which was severely lacking last year. Dumping Gaze and David Wear was a godsend.

Yet to play Melb, SEM, Perth - the other 3 teams expected to be in the top 4.
So while I do agree they look good, it's still a long way until a pecking order in the league is established.

Yeah, lets have another stupid thread about how great the Kings are after 4 meaningless games.

Oh isn't it wonderful that after once gain outspending their nearest rivals 2:1 they have managed to not completely suck. Well done them.

And nice effort to excuse their sucky performances under Gaze by claiming success doesn't happen overnight. Please wait while I get a pen and write that down.

Injuries can change things very quickly, Bogut is crucial, if he was to miss games they'd be up shit creek with out a paddle. Lisch out is already concerning. Great move pinch Ware from Melbourne and even Moller is that glue defensive guy that the kings lacked. Long way to go.

that why they need to sign a backup 5

Kings are the Hollywood of nbl. No championships won in October.

Kickett and the young Hunter are ok back up guys. They need to keep an import spot for a top quality five man if Bogut goes down, not a back up.

If Bogut and Casper stay healthy, then the Kings should be top 4.

Encouraging start, but it's too early to say more than that- which we all expected to be the case anyway.

When does Hollywood usually win its championships?

The Championship is going either Sydney or United.

I'm really looking forward to seeing United vs Sydney

Sydney might have a better top 6 or 7, but United has superior depth- especially big man depth.

Sydney should be better defensively, but United has loads of firepower.

Sydney should be more capable of locking teams down, but I reckon United has the potential to play at a faster pace and score quicker.

It's not rocket science. All the fans have been calling it out for the last 3 seasons, while Kings management for whatever reason did not make the required changes.
1. Jeff Wrong Again.
2. Gaze - great player, not a great coach.
3. Wrong imports and balance: Season 1 no 1, season 2 no 5, season 3 no 4. Finally David Wear was the epitome of bad choices.
4. K Lisch on 300k pa - once again injured season 1, 2 and 4. I guess this can't be helped.

This season the Kings have not played any of the top 3 teams, so it's way too early to call.

"The Championship is going either Sydney or United."

Not sure how you can say that, when United are 0-3 and have lost to Perth twice already.

I'd argue that Melbourne’s bench is better than Sydney.

Don't worry, the Violets will Crumble again.

See, thing is it doesn't matter how much smoke they blow up Bogut's ass, or how many awards they give him, it's only victories that matter.

Kings have had their chance, LK bent over backwards to get them a GF and they blew it. (Or sucked it) For three years in a row.

This year they want an all Melbourne GF.

There's also zero evidence to date that The Beaver is any better than Gaze.
Gaze was a fantastic coach when his players dominated, and that's all we have seen so far.
