Hawks keen on "Patterson" type to replace Brooks: Flinn

Illawarra are in contact with several NBA clubs on a replacement!

____

"Rather than a like-for-like stand-in, the Hawks are toying with the idea of recruiting a small forward and allowing No.1 NBA draft prospect Ball to take control of the backcourt.

"At least in the short term he'll have more responsibility, as will (Australian guard) Emmett Narr," Flinn told AAP.

"We do need some more scoring in the back court to take the pressure off but the NBL has changed in the last couple of years.

"Teams are playing smaller, so if we can get a (Brisbane Bullets swingman) Lamar Patterson type we'd go down that path.

"We've made some good networks and it's exciting. I've had six or seven NBA clubs reach out with options.""

Can somebody please explain to this bozo that he is meant to be assembling a Basketball team. Not a Poker hand. "3 of a Kind" is NOT a good thing.

Or does he just have some weird form of Asperger's where he doesn't like even numbers?.

They desperately need a PF. They also need an actual SG.
They don't need another SF

A backcourt of Ball & Naar isn't winning games in the NBL1

Just wheel out Greg Hubbard, he could hit the open three. If you want to go further back, see what Alphonse Hammond is up to.

Really? - Based on what?
You would have to be off your face on Meth to suggest that Flinn has done a good job of assembling a team. - As we have all pointed out from the beginning this is a terribly unbalanced team - and not surprisingly they are last.
At least Dazz has suggested they get a better balanced team. Okay so there are probably budget constraints driving selection - but please dont pretend this team is well balanced or that Flinn has done a good job of it.
As "Reality" says - Ball and Naar in the backcourt is a recipe for disaster. - As has been discussed elsewhere the biggest problem with Ball is that he takes too many low % shots. He needs players he can pass to for that outside shot and Narr isn't the one.
As Dazz points out - they also need a legit PF. - Okay Patterson could fill the role but hes only dulicating what they already have with Blanchfield, - Hed probably be better than Coenraad as a starter - but why not chase a type they actually need

A Terrico White on the wings and a Cameron Oliver inside would make a big difference.
