Taipans-Hawks Nov9

"Ah" - with an atomic number of 119, that's the element of surprise and that's about the only way the Hawks could knock off the Taipans today.

Hawks are in the doldrums. Bottom of table, injuries, first season coach, the list goes on. It's the script from a Hollywood children's movie, but unlike the lift me up, feel good happy ending where we all go off to have mom's apple pie after winning the little league, the real world is a cold, dark, grey mean place.

Taipans are playing pretty well as a team and share the love around with an incredible 5 players averaging double digit scoring and rebounding love shared around the group. It's Taipan time tonight.

It's about the only time we can say this, Taipans by 10

If nothing else, the Taipans have been fun to watch this season, and Ball too for Illawarra. Expecting some highlights, but a comfortable double-digits Taipans win.

Taipans by 10+.

Any word on when the Hawks will have a replacement for Brooks? They desperately need help. Blanchfield has been a real disappointment this year.

You're right. If there was an award for Least Improved he would be right in the mix to win it.

Interesting comment by one of the commentators at the hawks game last week. Said that Blanchfield needs stuff run for him to be effective and that hasn't happened this season. It made sense given Brooks and Ball have dominated the ball and offence for the Hawks. But I wonder what others with a keener eye than me think of that as an explanation for Blanchfield’s struggles this season?

Pathetic field shooting from Taipans.
NBL wake up.
Simply not enough good players to go around the amount of teams currently playing. Down by 15 to the Hawks at half time is just plain embarrassing.

Naar really isn't impressive at all when you consider he is 25. That's nearly the same as someone like Mitch Norton. Even Kyle Adnam is 25 and seems more handy than Naar at the moment.

Credit to Flinn for sticking with Sunday in the 2nd half. Good adjustment with anderaon in the starting line up too. Great win Hawks.

Interview with Cam

Lamelo: "thank you, sir"!

What a nice kid. But bumped into his uncle (?) last week on way home from Canberra game (actually let him out of toilet at a servo!). Had a chat and he was very personable, as well.

How does it feel lovebroker to go through your entire life and achieve nothing of importance. To be an absolute scrub. I'm sure you’ll come back with a response as you’ll feel the need to defend yourself and you have the right top of course. But the reality won’t change that you’re nothing more than a bum. you spend time bagging out other people’s achievements because you can’t actually do any yourself.

Embarrassing performance by the Taipans to be outworked like that on their home floor.

Massive publicity for program with Ball in town.

Fresh and only playing 1 home game that round.

Banged up Hawks team already heading towards a building/development year.

To get beat on the boards at home like that points to a real lack of leadership and culture in the club.

Annoyingly they seem to be a group put together to sell tickets but without any real substance behind them to win enough games to get back into playoff contention.

The lack of posts on here about such a terrible effort makes one think people in Cairns just expect as much now???
