Mel-Adl Nov 10

Melbourne are sitting in fourth spot and whoever wins this game will be in fourth spot at the end of the round.

Melbourne with three wins in a row are on a roll. Adelaide have had a bad fortnight losing to Phoenix, then Kings. After starting the season slowly, United have picked up pace. Long, Goulding and Trimble all average over 20 ppg, now throw Prather into the mix and that could be 5 in a few weeks. Gee, there must be some fat balding grey haired dud with gold jewellery around his neck in Melbourne with deeps pockets smoking cigars on a yacht. Oh yeah, did SugarDaddy.com jump on as a sponsor? It's like a Rapper's birthday party. There's more cash getting splashed than a cocaine dealer's pool party. Who's wearing the gold bikini?

While there's lobster on the menu in the United changerooms, the Sixers have to catch yabbies from the Torrens if they want a feed. Adelaide are the more budget side, but they are the more emotional side. United are the clinical Ivan Drago, Adelaide are the emotional Rocky. Too many times Adelaide have lost games they should have won because they let their emotions get the better of them.

I fear that might be the case today. A third quarter fade out after a solid first half and then it's a clinic in the fourth. Come one Sixers, there's light at the end of the tunnel, unfortunately it's the United freight train.

Melbourne by 9...

I would like to say otherwise but Melbourne are starting to get going and with Prather back now and playing at home I can't see them losing this.

United by 12

The battle of the flop.
Goulding v Teys.

Battle of wank celebrations
Mcveigh vs Long

Battle of leg kickout 3's
Randle v Goulding

This matchup just has it all.

Adelaide have lost all 3 games against the top three teams. Melbourne have won 2 and lost 3 against the top three teams.

Melbourne remind me of 2017-18, when they took a little while to gel, and they now look like they're getting into their rhythm. Just like this season, at this point in 2017-18 they were 4-4. Then they went 15-5 for the rest of the regular season.

Melbourne to win this one.

Did the NBL fly a Rugby League commentator (Matt Russell) down to Melbourne to commentate a game from Melbourne Arena in a basement?

I was wondering the same thing last night when Heal, Rosen and Hudson were in the bunker. The former two are based in Sydney and the latter in Adelaide as far as I know. So much for cost cutting on flights.

Has the NBL picked up more sponsors or advertisers, or does SBS sell half time ads in addition to the NBL's spots?

Knowledgeable commentators calling Rundle to improve over the season due to short pre-season.

Wasn't his best season when he came in as late injury replacement?

It's a big ask for Rundle to improve. Seems to be more deros there with every passing year.

Goulding is the nbl version (lite) of James harden. Can't play defence to save his life (2 d breakdowns in a row) but can shoot.
But the fucking commentators still talk about him like he is Jordan and NEVER call out his defence!

Now that it pretty clear that finals are off the agenda and a championship just a pipe dream..

surely it is time to call out Joey for signing guys like Teys, White, Dillon etc.

They are just hacks who are not going to impact in any significant way to the team's overall success.

Why have them? Effectively, they are a waste of space.

Come on Joey, if you are going to insist on staying in Adelaide, what about signing some locals next season and adding some interest to the bench.

Wow Adelaide were awful.

Randle is both the best and worst part of the team. Can still score, but is super selfish. Takes awful shots and has zero interest in the team itself. He's interested in getting his numbers to help ensure the next paid job. It leads to everyone on the team doing the same and after quarter time that is what you saw, zero ball movement and offence, 100% isolated hero ball.
It was as ugly as it gets.

I felt Adelaide had to adjust to the ticky tack calls. Melbourne didn't adjust however that 2nd quarter was more like bashball then anything else.

NBL need to clean up the inconsistent game calling which occurs in Melbourne. Will Weaver was on the money. You have ticky tack crap called at one end and mugby happening at the other end.

Teams that adjust end up looking like they are giving open looks and open baskets, however they can’t do squat without a foul, therefore it’s adjust or ride pine.

They clearly look better with Randle, and need him to play the majority of the game. That said, Drmic impressed me this afternoon, mainly for his level headedness. He is making huge strides and demonstrating more of the talent he has, and less of that headcase he was labelled as. Good on him too.

For the 6'ers to be successful and this might not be popular we need to start Froling and bring DJ in as the 6th man so the 2nd unit has an offensive go to guy .

We should start Randle , White , Drmic , Griffin and Froling .

This way White can pressure up the opposing PG from the get go whilst Randle pushes on them the other way .

At first sub , bringing in Moore and Johnson allows us to feast on the second unit . Every game we start well and then go negative 20 in no time whether it is in the second quarter , 3rd or if lucky 4th .

Joey , you need to balance out our units or we are finishing BOTTOM

Adelaide are a middle of the table team.

I agree re bringing Moore off the bench - when the Sixers made the finals he was a gun there. Drmic has stepped up too this season

Teys and White do have a role to play on this team just not at the same time imo

Please please please. You dare bash adelaide at your peril. Team continually responds under pressure year in year out. 2 massive games coming. 2 massive wins and game on. Don't see Perth as tough as previously Brissy flaky and so are SEM. calling for joeys head - no sense. Foundation very solid group - tighten up D and she be apples.

Comes down to one thing in this league at the moment $$$$
Hard to blame Joey when Adelaide doesn't have the $$$$ to spend on quality talent.

It is no wonder the 3 teams who are championship favorites pay well overs on the salary cap.

Commentators consistently referred to the lack of talent Adelaide has compared to the top team, unfortunately in the current environment $$$$ gets the W's

This is why it makes me sick listening to how good Sydney etc. are when you know how much extra they are paying. Championships are bought in this league at the moment.

It is great to go on about what a great competition it is and how much talent is in the league but it is far from a level playing field and actually what is happening is the smaller teams with no money are being forced out of the competition due to this short-sighted management strategy. Without these teams there is no competition, this is a fact.
