Bullets v Taipans Nov 16

Put on your Hawaiian shirt, this is the Tropical Tango.

Second to bottom Taipans are 1 and 4 on the road and if they want to threaten for a top 4 spot need to improve on that record, starting today. Brisbane are bobbing along like a buoy in the Brisbane River not really setting the world on fire, but just doing enough to keep their head above the water. Brisbane, aka Adelaide 18ers, have a funny style of play about them, unpredictable and a bit emotional. They seem to be a confidence team. Cairns seem to snatch defeat form the jaws of victory time and time again. They are up, then through clumsy unforced errors, let a team go on a 0-10 run to get a lead back and then they go down like Terry Lewis in a pub carpark.

Should be the same today....Taipans with their free flowing style with no doubt push the Bullets to their limits, then just when it looks like they will win, will let the SEQ boys back into the game for them to snatch a narrow win

Apparently this matchup is now called the Sunshine Stoush.

NBL HQ please stop manufacturing shitty rivalry names.

Why not continue with the use of the Sunshine Swing?

That was used for teams who played games back to back on the road in Queensland which doesn't seem to exist any longer.

Because Sunshine Swing is when an interstate team plays both Queensland clubs on the same weekend road trip.

Is that Anstey commentating again?

Courier Mail/Bullets journo manufactured the 'Sunshine Stoush' label and the NBL took it. I like the dude but the name is shitty.

Bullets are awesome.pushi g for top 4 and cairns towellling them. I not watching but assume same old culprits failing again. Disappointing for bullet brand. Need strong proud club to return. Like the bullets of old. Strong and bold loud and proud.drawing a crowd.

They need to call out Harry Froling for his conditioning too. He is hurting Adelaide, where at least Patterson is still effective.

Last seasons versions of Te Rangi (10p,3r,1a) and Gliddon (14p,3r,2a) have effectively been replaced by Singler (7p,3r,1a) and Braun (7p,4r,3a) who are contributing at 60% of what Te Rangi and Gliddon contributed at, while taking up two import spots and having the two locals wasted on the bench.
No wonder the team is struggling and no idea why Lemanis refuses to acknowledge that this as an issue and make a change.

"Jawai too big too strong for the Bullets. Lucky coach has sat him down otherwise Bullets would be down 20+ at half time"

Seriously did you even watch the game? Jawai is a former shadow of himself and this game simply showed he is a poor finisher. I like the guy a lot however @ 3/11 that ain't good enough.
8 points from the line and only 6 points under the basket. If you think he;s that good, give up whatever you are on as it's clearly not working.

^ agree 1000%. Jawai's performance has been a massive problem for the taipans for the last few games. He's so high profile that Kelly kind of has to give him minutes but his finishing has been absolutely shocking. Krslovic offered more in that 4/5 role last night that Jawai did.

You were watching a different game mate! Jawai won that game for the Taipans. He had every Brisbane big in foul trouble which meant Machado and Newbill job was much easier going to the basket. Mate could of finished better but he was an unstoppable force in that second term which swung the game. Brisbane with no answers.

If you think Krislovic had more of an impact you don't see the game that well.

Yes, Jawai's finishing could have been better but he was being heavily guarded under the basket most times. Overall he was very good as #776 points out.

Krislovic more impact than Jawai, you want to change your drugs, there not helping you. Jawai was fantastic, yes probably should've made a few more under the hoop but his presence changes shots and he made his free throws. Krislovic is a qbl player and Kelly has realised that if he sticks to his 6-7 guys and leaves the qbl guys on the bench there much better.

Pretty sure that the fouls that the Bullets committed weren't on Jawai.
I take your point about Jawai being double teamed etc and that's fine with me, however defensively he is weak and offensively he should be far more productive.
Plus 5 fouls and 3/11 doesn't cut it when he is "unstoppable" down there.

14 & 7 and a win, whilst being the main factor in which the opposition bigs were in foul trouble most of the night cuts it fine with me. The big fella swung that game when the 3pt line dried up for Cairns after their 3 first qtr triples. Shift your personal goal posts all you like but the Nate was crucial to that victory last night.
