Older players are not use to playing disciplined, by the numbers basketball. Next year will be very different at the fire.

Poor move by Seebohm and Fire if true. What a load of crap! Disgraceful stuff!

I'm hoping that Bishop has something lined up in Europe and this was a mutual release seeing as Townsville has no hope of making finals, however given those comments by Seebohm I'm doubting that was the case.

Pretty poor if so and I couldn't imagine it would do much for team morale to see their best player be cut like that.

No one on that team is worth keeping except Aokuso.

Bit pointless cutting someone at this late stage especially when your not going to make finals , though don't think Bishop was a good choice in the first place

I disagree. If they are trouble and you are out the finals race then cut them fornthe sake of team culture. Worked for Bendigo.

Bishop is a known cancer in that team. Seebohm did the right thing by getting rid of her. Be assured her teammates are a lot happier without her there

McGee was on the twist Saturday night and had made instagram posts. She deleted them Sunday morning, arrived late to the game (50 minutes before tip off), and was then sent home. It will no doubt signal the end of her time in Australia

She is limited but she plays within those limitations and plays with a lot of heart. I think she's been a good fit for the Boomers.

How bad was Conti. Mistake after mistake. The bigs kept on showing her and she still continued dribbling to the same side. Not sure if she has played lots of minutes previously but she needs to improve. Isn't there another pg at the boomers.

I'd have thought the biggest mistake of all was Beck’s. Sole reason it ended up in ot really, apart from that Boomers did well without Allen

Conti isn't a strong PG not even as a back up point , Think she’s a much better AWFL player
Why do boomers have so many NZ players, and not good ones either.
Surely we have better players in Australia that could fill those spots.

Ezi shouldn’t have been left to bring that ball up in those last few seconds, should have been the PG job

Absolutely, at a bare minimum there should have been at least a heave attempt with the amount of time left on the clock. I still can't believe it - you could tell immediately there was something wrong with Magbegor's lack of speed and progression down the court/not being comfortable with the ball. Also when she clutched the ball onto her chest in panic it looked to me as if she kind of started to gesture for a timeout until realising you can't do that? Really odd end of game execution for a professional side. Hung out to dry there by her teammates' poor execution or Molloy's lack of a contingency plan?

Reply #786445 | Report this post

I think folks are being a little harsh on Conti. I thought considering Malloy almost never plays her, to start and have to go up against the best PG we have in Mitchell, tough assignment and I thought she did as good a job as could be expected.
As for all the NZ players. You have Chelsea D'Angelo in the squad, excellent up and coming Aussie guard who can’t get a look in because Malloy is too busy getting his NZ players up to scratch. How much longer does he have???

The loss of Alice for the Flames will be a huge as she was not only scoring well but her defense has improved greatly this season.

Hope she will be back for the 3x3 for Tokyo, as she is one of the main players.

Go Flames!!
