Oldest player in the league? 37 before the years end. Will he still be the starting 4?

How does he keep getting a contract?

'How does he keep getting a contract?'

Because:
- He shoots the 3 ball well above the league average.
- At 6'8/6'9 he can defend multiple positions.
- He was statistically in Melbourne's best line up last year.
- He plays significant minutes on a playoff team (22 MPG in NBL20)

Good to have him back.

Hopefully he is off the bench this season and MU can upgrade at PF.

Where has Andersen signed?

If Andersen and Vukona don't get another contract who else in the league is older than Barlow?
Kickert maybe, can't think of anyone else. Assuming Kickert plays on.

He can play both forward spots and has been doing so since 2003.

So he's SPF 15+

He couldn't go anywhere else because his son is 7 years old.

Cooked. Uniteds roster is average without imports. They'll go nowhere with two absolute stud imports.

Melbourne must be paying him under 100K because the bloke is straight up a bench warmer now.

They paid him in hay and promised him a nice stable

Did a lot more than a few imports last season, sometimes it's other things as well a player brings to the team that money can't buy!

Good on him and united, if he plays well why not give another year the season after.

Prather is one import.

With the right imports Melbourne are good enough to win the title.

Thought he was washed up a couple years ago but had a pretty good season as a role player. Nbl answer to Kyle Korver. Definitely a lot worse out there.

Still a decent player worthy of any bench.

He was however as much to blame for the Game 1 SF loss to Sydne with awful shot selection in the fourth.

Goulding was the reason they lost game 1. Couldn't make a shot.

Again how he get the contract.

Yeah he shoots 3 shots a game and makes 2, all from either top of key or side.

Can't do anything when he has to dribble the ball, too slow when it comes to defense, fouls too often, can't rebound.

He a bigger version of van hofe just 20yrs older.

If he starts melb are doomed

Not a lot of respect around these parts for the Perfect Gamer.

37pts (incl. 14/14 FG; 8/8 3PT) in 2007-08. Never forget.

Melbourne are rubbish anyway and with only two imports and 1 being Prather who is fried. They look to be sinking. Celebrating Goulding re-signing is a joke, takes up so much cap space. Cash they could have used to swoop on Humphries, Adel, Motum or anyone else who doesn't jack up bricks most of the time. Jo Lual is decent but can he be numero uno at his position and stay out of foul trouble?

Perth, Adelaide, Cairns, Brisbane and SEM already look better on paper.

Nice joke except Barlow played point guard for a (short) while back in 2008.

Good signing. 3 point shooting, defense (including defensive versatility) and unselfish team play are 3 things that are valuable on every team, every day. The same reasons he made the World Cup team. Not sure why anyone would be wondering how he got a gig.

However at this age, he might be better off coming off the bench. United are still one quality Aussie away from being right at the echelon. If the Brandt rumor is true that's exactly where they'll be

Not sure what lists you ppl are looking at but i'd consider MU to be the best looking side on paper so far

"The same reasons he made the World Cup team."

He made the World Cup team because they were running out of options so they took him because of his familiarity with the team due to training camp.

Thanks Mr Holmes

Is there any other insightful comments you'd like to add into the mix?

Of course the familiarity with the team was also a factor

But he wouldn't have been in camp in the first place were it not for the valuable aforementioned attributes
