Wnba players playing 3-4 week should be all good.

Athletes, coaches, officials and other required personnel associated with the league from areas identified as 'hotspots' will this month arrive in Brisbane and undertake the 14-day quarantine period before relocating to North Queensland. During the quarantine period, teams and referees will have controlled access to training facilities at Nissan Arena in Brisbane.

No exemption based on the media release

As stated in the release there are no exemptions for people in hotspots. They will need to serve the 2 weeks quarantine prior and the Perth squad for example will have to quarantine upon arrival back in WA post Hub.

Most of these women have been training for months , they are athletes they will be fine if managed well and coaches actually use their benches

Yes exemptions.

Vic teams will be in quarantine , they have 14 days mandatory , not sure about the rest but would imagine if they are not on the Qld Government list of exemptions, then they will quarantine too
Vic teams leave shortly

Southern based teams will also need to acclimatise to the humidity up north , hope they have factored that in

D2.0

So many questions...

The need for a Mega-hub? Aren't some states relaxing their borders? Obviously Melbourne and Perth are out, but couldn't they play across the others?

Why FNQ? Even if all in Queensland, why not Brissy, GC, etc?

Why the need to compress the season? Where's everyone in a hurry to be?

What happens when there are injuries? Pleyers will get injured, they are more likely to aggravate injuries playing such a compressed timetable, and less likely to recover for the next game

The tough scenario is any players whom are from WA will need to isolate for 14 days upon return, meaning iso for Christmas Day and New Year's!

West Australians returning from Queensland can self isolate at their home, and can still be in the company of other house members. So they won't be totally alone for Xmas.

Why the need to compress the season D2.0? Really?

Because clubs are bleeding money under normal circumstances. Now no home games for 7 teams, means less sponsors, game receipts etc.

Also 7 teams away from family, work (most players aren't full time) etc for 6 weeks

Lots of good questions, this isn’t one of them

Good question, perhaps the clubs who have accepted memberships could include a free Kayo access for the duration, it would be something at least, but these clubs need the memberships , it's not like they are that expensive to begin with, so maybe just get behind your club for this season, just because you want to see the WNBL continue

Conti is likely going in as a DP , they already have Mitchell Lavey , Cole and Blicavs ( née Cummings) as guards/ball handlers, add O'Hea to that as well, they need to sign a big not another guard, they have Pizzey and Jarry but need someone in the 5 spot as backup if Liz goes awol
