Injuries after the break

I know everyone's experience over the last 12 months has been different, but I have a question about whether what I am seeing is common:
Here in NSW, have seen an extraordinary number of serious ankle injuries this year... seniors and rep kids. I am wondering if it is anything to do with the lack of tough games last year, or just coincidence. I’m not talking about low grade sprains... so many players in boots and looking and surgery and months out of the game in some cases.
Would appreciate your thoughts. We are doing lots of preventative work in regards to knee injuries, am wondering if we need to expand this to a focus on ankles?

I'm pretty sure KET injured his fallopian tube during the break.

Most injuries ever in the AFL. Nothing to do with Covid or lack of games.
