Breakers v Taipans Jun 2

perhaps not the most exciting match of this final round, but it is the final match of the Snakes and their last chance to say bye bye to Mike Kelly. Can they get one last win for the lanky yanky from Santa Barbara? or will it be hasta la vista in Sulphur City.

They're playing in Rotorua, and that'll please my cousin Viv from Whakatane.

A win to the Breakers could see them slide past the Sixers if they get this one, then kick the Phoenix out of the park on Saturday. I'm sure the Sixers will love finishing just above the orange army, and for that reason my kiss of death must go to the Breakers, who might just clear the bench tonight.

Breakers muck around with the ball. 5-6 passes to shoot when open shot after 2. Machado left open draining 3's. Defense optional.

Nice stadium, Kelly still on side lines. Defence has been optional for both these teams all season, nothing has changed.

Breakers rarely drive to the hoop quickly. If they did they might win a few more games.

Shamir got into them in the 4th on that. He seemed frustrated with the playing groups inability to make simple reads. But it will be last chance for him next season. Maybe his system is too simple for his players to execute at a high level and he needs to run some more prescriptive sets that help generate easier looks?

Iverson is a stud. He arrived out of shape after a long layout, quarantine didn't help, limited preseason, then playing many games without a home base. However, since the Breakers have been in NZ he has a vertical jump and can run the floor. If he was in that condition the whole season, the Breakers results would also be different.
