Well they let a good player in O'Brien leave for the doggies, that wasn't a great move.

Dodgy financial management is the biggest problem they have got.

Going and paying for shit that they did not have clear funding/available funds for.

Ripping funds out of domestic to pay for Snr Rep , which they can not afford, thus the financial mess. Clubs have had enough and want a fair environments for members to play basketball .. elitism at all costs , is not what community kids sport is about.

More hysteria from Hawthorn over night acting like a tabloid rag , oh wait a minute the Chair of the Board works for a large media org , that explains the management style /culture , NO care for facts, truth , respect or due diligence. Just attention seeking comments which are total fiction , only good enough to line your budgies cage ! What rot

I agree. Terribly nasty. I am not involved, but some of the vitriolic commentary has been disappointing. Hopefully BV undertake their investigation quickly, and everyone moves on. Main thing is to get the kids back playing.

It will be important for associations to take note of any lessons learned from this episode, good and bad, so that boards and executives can learn and we can all get better as a sport. Perhaps BV can in some way impart some guidance following their investigation.

My mate is one of the administrators for these domestic clubs. Shame on Hawthorn for attempting to save face by demonizing him and all the people who give up so much time volunteering for this community in the representative and grass roots space.

The outcome of this investigation needs to be shared far and wide and hopefully all the commentary on this stops and we move on. Feeling grateful to not be involved in that mess.
