what do you think is the best way to run Rep tryouts.

Get parents away from anything to do with tryouts or selection,if they want to coach after sides are selected,then that's fine,nepotism shouldn’t be the main reason for selection,seen it happen for far too long,shows a distinct lack of leadership or understanding if it is continually allowed to take place,

Clubs are all similar in the way they run tryouts. The process is not perfect but given limited resources it is probably as good as it will ever be. Mostly, kids end up in a team that will play at a level commensurate with the kids' capabilities. The odd seeming injustice here and there doesn't change that; almost always, when a parent thinks they've been dudded, the parent is wrong. Move on, support the teams and enjoy the season.
