Big V - VYC & YL1 Finals 2022

With the YL seasons coming to an end for VYC & YL1 (2 Rounds remaining for YL2) thought it would be interesting to look at ladders and any finals predictions anyone may have:
*ladders accounting for H2H assuming I have them correct - please feel free to advise if I'm wrong.

VYCM:
Knox 17-5 Casey 16-6
Nunawading 15-7 Kilsyth 14-8
Ballarat 13-9 Ringwood 14-8
Diamond Valley 12-10 Sandringham 13-9
——————————— ———————————-
Dandenong 10-12 Melbourne 13-9
Keilor 9-13 Eltham 11-11
McKinnon 5-17 Waverley 6-16
Blackburn 4-18 Bulleen 4-18

Bulleen to be relegated it seems as Blackburn have H2H on them? Such a strong club in VJBL but now with two x YL1 teams.
Casey first year in VYC & they finish first in their pool, who would have thought! Handy get by them with Marchese heading across from Kilsyth but the group looks like majority existing team from YL1 + their 2 x 18s state boys.
Knox & Nunawading looking strong as always, hard to look past Knox for the title with a full team of Shelley, Taylor, Spicer, Nunn, Rapp etc.
No Melb/Eltham/Dandy in finals is always surprising, nice to see a close competition.

VYCW
Nunawading 18-4 Casey 16-6
Keilor 18-4 Hume 14-8
Bendigo 15-7 Altona 13-9
Kilsyth 14-8 Melbourne 12-10
——————————— ———————————-
Knox 11-11 Sandringham 10-12
Dandenong 7-15 Diam. Valley 10-12
Ringwood 4-18 Ballarat 8-14
Sunbury 0-22 Waverley 6-16

Sunbury heading down to YL1 after a rough season for them.
Nunawading sneak into 1st based on H2H (+9) over Keilor.
Casey go 2 from 2 in their first year of VYC with their girls finishing the year in amazing form coming from dead last to first.
Purely based on in season results you’d say Casey are favourites at this stage to take it out with their wins over Keilor & Nunawading.
With teams losing some girls for a variety of reasons, could go anyway in an elimination final!

YL1M

Camberwell 22-0
Altona 19-3
Frankston 17-5
Coburg 12-10
Sherbrooke 11-11
Collingwood 11-11
——————————-
Hume 9-13
Geelong 7-15
Craigieburn 7-15
Wyndham 6-16
Bendigo 6-16
Warrandyte 5-17

Wow. What a year from Camberwell!
Question is can they continue it for another 3-5 games and get the job done?
Frankston & Altona are 2 tough seasoned squads that have been up this end of the season many years in a row now and know what it’s about.
Huge result from Bendigo winning over Sherbrooke in their last game of the year to avoid being relegated with Warrandyte now being the ones heading down to YL2 it seems!

YL1W
Frankston 20-1
Bulleen 17-5
Wyndham 17-5
McKinnon 15-7
Pakenham 13-9
Craigieburn 12-10
——————————
Camberwell 11-11
Eltham 10-12
Geelong 9-13
Warrandyte 5-17
Collingwood 5-17
Sherbrooke 0-22

Frankston with a huge year, surely after a few disappointing results in past years they’d be expecting that this is their year to win it?
Sherbrooke headed down to YL2 after a tough year.

Bulleen being relegated is going to be very strange to see in Youth League 1. Something I'm sure the club won’t be thrilled about.

It’d be very interesting to see how Camberwell YL1M would compare against VYC teams. They’ve been winning by big margins but how big is the jump?

Knox and Nunawading to make VYCM final - they just seem to have too much depth compared to Ballarat and Ringwood. Looking forward to another exciting weekend of games!
