Development Players

Who is left in terms of most likely under 25 guys to land at the end of a bench?

Just know a lot of SA young players have had to go interstate to get spots. Pity they couldn't be in Adelaide.

Apart from Harris who chose Perth over Adelaide, who else?

Harris was also at Brisbane try outs. Did Adelaide actually want him?

There is no "state" loyalty in professional sports. You get the best development player you can to fill your bench. Their geographical residence is of no consequence.

Jackies had 24 players and most were from interstate. M Gaze didn't make the cut.

Its still worth trying to get one or two talented SA players into the Sixers when you can. The Sixers had their best years when they developed SA guys into core pieces... Maher, Pearce, McKay, Ninnis, Bradtke.

Harris has looked pretty good the last couple of seasons and I was hoping the Sixers might pick him up as a flamethrower off the bench.

Good luck to him in Perth though. He might get some good opportunities to learn from Cotton, Blanchfield and Rillie, who all know plenty about how to be shooter. Probably wouldn't get that same opportunity with the Sixers right now.

Its good to see Marshall improving with the Pioneers too. If he can develop a better outside shot, he could become a pretty good SIxer down the track.

If the Sixers could only pick one young SA guy, then I guess Marshall is probably the best prospect out of the current crop at least? Definitely a better bet than Mudronja and White at the moment, probably more potential than Harris. Anyone I’ve missed?

Will be interesting to see where Olbrich is at when he returns from college too. He’s filled out a lot since the start of last NBL season. Seems to have quite a high skill level and good size too.

Skilled 6'10 power forward who can shoot it well. JJs are pretty high on him, suits their style offensively, if he proves he can do so at the other end I think he'll get some minutes.

"Tasmania JackJumpers are pleased to announce the signing of 6'10 centre Tristan Forsyth as a Nominated Replacement Player ahead of the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season. Forsyth has spent the last two seasons as a Development Player with South East Melbourne Phoenix, where he played four games in each of the NBL21 and NBL22 seasons."
