JJs v SEM Christmas Day 23

I'll hopefully be free to tune in, SEM have lost all character with the loss Moller and then Creek, can’t see anything but JJs by around twenty.

SEM over rated, carrying injuries and implementing new players...

This could get ugly…

No. Ugly is what the Jackies are wear this game.

Wish the NBL would dial it down with the ever growing number of kits each team wears each season.

In his case, the Xmas jersey concept could have worked if the design was cleaner | less busier and BOTH teams were wearing them.

JJ's stinking it up early. 12-19 SEM at 1/4 time. Awful shooting options

SEM showing good fight in first quarter, couple dumb fouls from sauce though, Terangi got slightly injured but some of his D is ordinary.
JJs not up to normal self in firsts

Sauce, four fouls at 6.28 in second, two dumb and two unlucky.

Honestly speaking, game has been terrible to watch thus far. 25-all halfway through Q2.

Jacks playing down to SEM level. Good for SEM.

SEM got foul trouble everywhere. Nader certainly no moller in D. Terangi out injured now, Kelly hasn't had any luck whatsoever.

SEM a little unlucky to be trailing by one, at least they are competing. Rissetto doing very nicely. JJs looking like in second gear and should win from here, hopefully stays a good contest

Why do the Hungry Jack's ads keep getting interrupted by McDonald's ads? What's going on here?

Phoenix deserve the win here. Playing better ball.

Kelly has really done a very good job in his first season, yes they have copped a few beltings recently but overall with a very undermanned roster are doing very well.

JJ's should be ashamed of themselves, insipid performance on their home court

@ Dunkman. Agree. Kelly doing great this season. Helps tonight that JJ's look like a NBL 1 team

You play as good as your opposition let's you, SEM have defensively improved a heap this season.

Any chance JJ's might drive to the hoop? Seriously poor offence.

Jesus, Ben Ayre putting this one to bed with a huge three.

Garbage game overall, at least it was close.

Credit to SEM. Discredit to the Jacks, they played like dog turd on their home turf.

Well another debacle. JJ's air ball 3 & Phoenix 3. 81-77. Game over. Pathetic coaching effort from the JJ’S & poor offence. Phoenix killed them on the boards & JJ’s just wouldn’t drive to the hoop. JJ’s must be in a dream in 2nd spot or is the league just pretty poor??. Final score 85-77 Phoenix. Yep I’d did get ugly. .... for the JJ’s

Why didn't Roth use that timeout after the Ben Ayre 3? Bizarre move to not use it then & then use it with 7.5 to go when you’re now 6 down

Statistically speaking Southeast hasn't improved defensively. Rank 7th in defensive rating and currently (just) slightly worse this year than last season under Mitchell.

Congratulations to SEM, plenty courage out there. I enjoyed the game, tough close encounter. Again defence wins big games, Risetto big in his 12 minutes, impressive and young.
JJs maybe thought they had to just go through the motions, it never works. At their best they are very good but inconsistent this season. Is Roths messaging getting stale.

That makes sense At1234, didn't look like it was great D by SEM, moreso insipid by JJ’s. Good to see Browne get going for SEM tho

Loved the way SEM mixed things up defensively tonight, didn't always work but kept the JJs out of rhythm. Then SEM's effort on the boards was exceptional, they just willed their way to a win.

Credit Gary Browne, he's a PG who needs targets around him to be effective but tonight he found a way regardless.

You should not compare last season to this season, SEM have got belted in a few games after losing players to injuries, quality players. Yes SEM had injuries last season as well so it's irrelevant.
I didn’t think SEM would go near ply inns and still may not but they have shown good character, got bones of a good side with a few adjustments.

It's been a very strange season. You've got United and then daylight, sunlight, moonlight and even more daylight between them and the rest.

"You've got United and then daylight.."

United have been very consistent this season however the Cats were very unlucky not to get the win away from home which would have given them 2/2 away again United. I think it's a much closer contest then the ladder shows.

Milton Doyle is out of form for the JJ’s, he’ll come good and we’ve seen what he can do vs United. Wouldn’t count out the Kings either.

Melbourne are by far the most consistent, but Perth and Tasmania won't have any fear of playing them. Their best basketball is right there with United.

Kudos to SEM played hard - crashed the boards, made foul shots and played great D.

Word is Magnay out for the season.....went in with a injury and now out for the rest of the season.

Lee will now have to step up for the Jackjumpers. Risetto 6 / 6 Lee 3 /1

Awful news for Magnay and boomers if true, some players can't get a break. Risseto was fantastic in his time on court.
