yep and Molloy continues to speak to them in timeouts like they're 5 years old. No energy or enthusiasm from him is contagious I guess?

If you're a Flame and you put up double digit FGA, then you sucked at it. That's my main takeaway from the boxscore.

Yeesh!
Not sad about being unable to catch that game.

I just hope they weren't conserving their makes for the Lynx game.

Townsville missing Mansfield , two wins with her , two losses without her in games that they feel they probably should have won. Cooke loves to score but her defence against Whitcombe and then Melbourne last night was ordinary . TSV have Adelaide at home then back to Perth so a hard couple of weeks in front of them.

in that game did they call a double foul on Froling and Collier when Collier shoved Froling as she was walking by ???

Adelaide's scout on the fire has been excellent - no way the fire will shoot that poorly all game from outside. Having said that their defensive ball pressure is on at present - Sydney's shooting % was down Wednesday night as well.

I'd be getting Cox and Froling to work up on the elbows more than the blocks. Lightning are all over them when playing low.

If Townsville can get it to 10 or less - a good chance to W.

Live by the 3pt chucking, die by the 3pt chucking...and the total lack of defence. Coming out of a time out after scraping back to 5pt behind, only to brick it and then its a double digit lead again. Sigh. Sydney must be loving that Taylor on the bench has barely featured.

Lynx defensive strategy of swapping on every screen has played in Flames hand which has meant George or Ruef dominating smaller guards in the block.

Cool Howie - I think you'll find it was the girls who attended the season launch at the start of the year that was answering the questions about Indigenous Round, when it would have been great to hear from Ally Wilson & Shaneice Swain who both coincidentally played fantastic games in the WNBL Indigenous Round tonight for their respective clubs.

Swain couldn't stop hacking limbs though, but of an issue.

Happy Perth came back, some really good signs. Amihere will be key the longer the season goes on. Once she clicks fully with Atwell also integrated back in the side, watch out.

Sack Molloy. Or don't. Quite like an average Sydney side.

Everything is firing right for this Bendigo team. They're taking advantage of the quality this year to take their best shot of winning another title.

And still no KG. Can afford to bring her back from the bench too.

No KG and at least one other from the primary rotation of 8 has been missing from every game so far as well. Hannan was supposed to be the backup 4/5 to KG/Tolo and she has only played 2 games. Thrown a lot on Nightingale to backup Tolo and Samuels is basically playing the 4 from a defence perspective. Wehrung missing games has not been great but with Sami/VB/Wilson that has been less of a burden I think. They did start 7-0 a couple of years ago with KG in/out and then missed finals so still a long way to go (although that team did not have Sami/Tolo or a decent import like VB).

BS must have spent quite a bit this season.

Whitcomb, Griffin and Tolo...
Import Burton
Wilson a long term vet
Wehrung also been at the club for sometime.
Samuels + Hannan probably avg pay.
Bird + Nighintgale + Booth - small to no salary.

Any Injury will hurt them….

You mean like they have already had at least 2 out each game so far?
Or do you mean in addition to those?
Any injury is going to hurt any team.
Tolo's partner Dan Jackson was given the GM job.
Wilson has a long-time job at BSE in PE/Sport.
Pretty sure KG is also a teacher.
There are cushy jobs at Bendigo Toyota always available courtesy of Gabe Richards.
I think you will find that quite a bit of the coin comes from sources other than the salary cap and provided those players are actually doing the work they are paid for, then all is above board.

Check out Nat Hurst's press conference after her team's 7-point second-half vs the Fire. It lasts 1 min and 45 seconds and she is nothing but rude and arrogant. Tick tock!

No doubt feeling the pressure, team should be doing alot better with current roster.
Should be a top 4 team but on the bottom 3rd season in a row...
Still early in the season, 3 games behind but capable of turning it around.

Never been convinced on Hurst as a Coach, her teams lack team cohesion badly & appear as five individuals at both ends of the court. If they miss finals again in 2024 she is dead Coach walking!

Didn't find Hurst arrogant, moreso frustrated at losing after such a great first half & clearly needing to watch it back to see what they missed in real time. Obviously under significant pressure right now & the reporter needed to move on. I think it’s great that they have these now in the wnbl btw, is it new this season?

Press conferences have been around for a while, though last season they were almost directly after the game on court.

I'm very surprised at the assumption Adelaide are a top 4 side this year. They've been in "develop the kids" mode for at least 3 seasons, it may be time for a new coach but that's not on Hurst that's on recruitment.

If Bendigo are this good now without KG, then they should be fine for rest of season. Not saying they're certainties to finish top but based on this form they're near locks for making finals.

It is hard to look past the fact Adelaide have an experienced Opal/international player in Steph Talbot (allbeit returning with injury), wnba draft pick, emerging Opal and member of last years all star five Izzy Borlase, an experienced WNBA import with size who has played multiple wnbl seasons in Brianna Turner and Issie Bourne who was a runner up in the breakout player award last year. Lots of talent there... and its not their first season together.

Turner is a non entity down the offensive end though & so far the other 3 have sucked, especially Talbot. They certainly have the talent to turn it around, hopefully they can.
