Several references from University of Pittsburgh media point to Roman joining the D1 squad for the upcoming college season. Quite surprised that I randomly found this whilst googling something completely unrelated. Is this well known news ?

Haven't heard any NBL buzz about it, and even more confused since he's playing for the NextStars team at the Adidas Eurocamp right now....

Anyone have more insight into this ??.....

Yes exactly which is why it is very confusing. Pittsburgh media even commented on their forums that he "keeps his decisions very close to his chest"

His Next Star participation likely just a result of him having remained contracted to that program this year even after leaving JJs.

Hopefully he's got most of the Ben Simmons out of his system by now. No one was saying the college basketball, early NBA career Ben Simmons was destined to be modern day Ben Simmons were they? Pretty sure Ben Simmons became who we now know as Ben Simmons over time.

Would be assuming that since he left Tassie the contract was torn up allowing him eligibility. And not getting paid at nbl1 level to keep this option open.
Or could the "payment" at nbl1 be viewed as a nil deal.
Either way, Pitt would have done their homework with NCAA so good luck to him.
