Just as well McDonald was (outstanding), because much of the night wasn't.

The number of seats occupied at Sydney's Entertainment Centre - 4783 of 10,000 - is easily worked out. The upper rows were curtained off.

Half-fill a stadium for a sport that is an also-ran in Sydney, and there is little to get excited about. The pre-game slam-dunk contest and its half-time final was run to suit Australian pay television, and many of the competitors put the ball in the basket at three-point, not slam, percentage.

At least they'd get a bigger crowd than the last two. Not sure if it's on the cards though. You'd think Cairns could get a gig soon?

Maybe Melbourne the year after once the Dragons have settled in?

The club should try to get it, and if not the NBL should do their best to play it here. We would get a big crowd, and you would think that we would get a better atmosphere than they had in Sydney (even though the game wasn't good, but there wasn't that much noice in the first place).
And I think it is time they changed it from 'Aussie' Vs 'World' to just mixed, like 'South' Vs 'North' as in the last two games it's been 'Aussies' dominating.

I like North vs South
make Sydeny the halfway point.

So Adelaide, Perth, South, Melbourne, New Zealand and Wollongong vs Sydney, West Sydney, Hunter, Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville.

It would also swap each year so a north team hosts it one year and then a south team the following.

More criticism - here are some selective quotes:

Bartlett surely threw down some breath-taking and athletic dunks and was a worthy winner. But the kid doesn't play in the league! Hullo? Anyone else see anything odd there?

the more important point is that the dunk comp should be cut.

Poorly run - Sam Mackinnon looked positively embarrassed and self-conscious out there...

YAWNING is inevitable at the MaulStar game shoot-'em up. It's boring.

you could have the skills thing as well aka the nba. That is fun, and does not rely on "showtime" that often guys cant pull off.

Even the dunk comp in the US has reached trivial proportions. A skills challenge would be much better, even if u include a freestyle type dunk as part of it.

Never liked the dunk fest - boring.

3 Point shootout is the way to go.
'Skills spectacular' would be good - Globetrotter style.
North vs South would be alot better.
